Perhaps you were able to save a few bucks by buying a stock snowblower, but now you are ready to customize it. There are many accessories available, and it is recommended that you take your time and consider each carefully. Below are listed a few of the accessories that can enhance the look, and function of your snowblower.

Headlights

Drift Cutters

Electric Starters

Snow Cabs

Headlights: A good place to start in customizing your stock snowblower is the installation of headlights. Chances are that your stock snowblower did not come complete with headlights, and so you will appreciate having them. If you spend time clearing snow at the early morning hours or when you get home from work before sunset, then you will appreciate having headlights on your snowblower. Headlights can increase your options for when you clear snow from your driveway, or walkways.

Headlights are great accessories for clearing snow from your driveway after dark, and for increasing your visibility.

Snow Cabs: Winter is always accompanied by gusts of wind, and this can make clearing snow very uncomfortable. At times the wind will blow the ejected snow back and forth, sometimes ending up in your face. With the addition of a snow cab to your snowblower you can get the job done while being protected from the blowing wind, and snow. Knowing that you will be afforded some protection from the below zero winds will make clearing snow much easier, and much more enjoyable.

Installing a snow cab to your stock snowblower will not only make clearing snow more enjoyable, but it will protect you from the chilling wind and cold also.

Electric Starters: Most stock snowblowers are not equipped with an electric start, and so require some hand pulling to start the engine. This is not a chore that many look forward to first thing in the morning, because it may take half dozen cranks or so to get the engine running. The addition of an electric starter will make the task of getting the snowblower running easier for you. Instead of having to crank, and crank, only the turn of switch, and the push of a button will be required.

An electric starter will make the task of starting the snowblower on those cold, winter morning much less work, and hassle.

Drift Cutters: One of the fancy accessories that is available for your stock snowblower is a drift cutter. A drift cutter is an edge that is installed on the outer casing of the auger housing. This accessory will leave a distinctive cut on the snow banks or drifts and give your driveway a uniformed look. If having a good looking driveway or walkway is important, then purchasing a conversion kit with a drift cutter to your liking may be a great accessory idea. If a friend of yours has a snowblower, but no drift cutters, it makes a perfect gift for them.

Drift cutters on your snowblower will add the look of a clean, uniformed cut that is pleasing to the eye, and will make your driveway the envy of the neighborhood.
