Some people are born with creativity of another level. They have the ability to make things from stuff we would normally throw away. A lot of people are also becoming more environmentally conscious and in order to promote that, they have incorporated the use of recycled materials. Here are some of the ways people have used junk car parts and made something wonderful out of it.
In a bid to promote recycling, luxury car brand Lexus challenged four designers to use car parts and turn them into high-fashion accessories. From using crank bearings to armrest upholstery, what these designers created was something completely out of this world. One of the designers used valve lifters, crank bearings, and hose clamps to create a series of accessories. Not only that, Organic Designer John Patrick created a whole outfit, including a trench coat, short, and clutch by using a wire harness, leather seat covers, cargo covers, and floor mats.
Seat Belt Bags
The husband and wife duo, Dana and Melanie Harvey, are the masterminds behind the fashionable line of bags created from seatbelts. They even have a collection called "Treecycle" that uses only recycled seatbelts. You might think that these bags must look plain and dull. However, it is exactly the opposite and their bags come in an array of colors. An idea that started out when the couple were restoring a 1950 Buick has brought them this far with their creativity.
One of the most common things that people make out of car parts is furniture. Joel Hester from Texas is one such individual who uses hoods and trucks, and turns them into these really magnificent coffee tables. He uses the method of oxidation to create unique and colorful tables. If this wasn't enough, he also makes bed frames, end tables, desks, and other furniture.
Another classic example of creativity and crafty skills is the Hi Octane Industries. By using recycled car parts, they have created an array of exquisite jewelries. Hi Octane Industries was founded by Alicia Hanson, who is also an environmental graphic designer. The jewelries made out of salvaged junk parts are so beautiful in design that you will not believe what they are made of. If you do buy one of their jewelry, you can be sure that you have a unique piece of art with you.
Artists are known to use some really weird stuff in their artwork. For Australian artist, James Corbett, old car parts are enough. The way he turned junk into a work of art is truly amazing and inspirational. James Corbett started off his career when he created a piece for an off road race buggy. From there, he has managed to exhibit his work in many countries, got featured in established magazines, and he even got to be a guest star on many television shows. His sculptures are known for its uniqueness and liveliness.
Before you sell off your old car to a junkyard, think of ways you can use it in your house.
