Advanced Twitter Strategies: Staggered Recurring Posts with Tweet Later

My favorite tool for managing Twitter is Tweet Later. Let's face it – having lots of followers is great, but if you don't update your Twitter account often, then you are not really going to receive much benefit from having your account. Twitter will do you no good if you only post something a few times a week or less. It must be done multiple times per day, every day, without exception. And that is exactly the function that Tweet Later provides for you.

Tweet Later lets you set up spinnable, recurring tweets that update your account automatically. The recurring part refers to the fact that the tweets are posted to your account multiple times. Great concept, but if you leave it at that, you're going to have a whole lot of repeated tweets, which is really not good. That's where the “spinnable" part comes in. With a spinnable tweet, you provide multiple options, with the software picking one of the options at random.

The following example will make it more clear:

I love my red dog.:I really like my red dog.:My dog really likes red.}

I hope your tweets are better than this. Since the tweet is set up as spinnable, with multiple options, then Tweet Later will pick one of them at random to post.

Setting up at least ten tweets with three options as shown above will produce thirty original tweets. This is a great way to keep your account updating even if you don't have time to tweet or not near a computer.

One issue with pre-loading your tweets is that over time you will start having a lot of duplicate tweets. It is important to keep your material fresh by changing it up often.

What you want to do is log into your Tweet Later account periodically and do the following:

1. Add a set of whole new spinnable tweets.

2. Extend the time between recurrences of tweets that are more than two weeks old.

3. Turn off some of your even older tweets.

The general idea is that the newer a tweet, the more frequently it can be used. As tweets get older, they just get too worn out.

Give your setup the eyeball test by just going to your Twitter page and seeing how unique your tweet list looks. If you see a lot of repetition, then you need to refine your list further. If you run your Tweet Later account as described here, it will seem just like are manually posting all your tweets.
