If you have tried visiting Melaleuca’s main website you will notice that there is not that much information available. There are a few videos you can watch, but not much solid information. This is something that strikes me as extremely odd because many potential Melaleuca business owners will go to the main site first when doing their research. From my own research, this is what I have gathered. Melaleuca is a health and wellness company that uses the network marketing model to distribute products. The company has been around since 1985 and because they do not advertise, the money goes towards scientific research, allowing Melaleuca to produce very high quality products. Their product line consists of over 350 products that range from body lotion, household cleaners, deodorant, energy bars, diet drinks and much more. Pretty much a lot of household consumables you would purchase each month. Melaleuca products are meant to be safer, greener and more effective than most products you find in your local grocery store. Combined with the product line is the business opportunity that allows Melaleuca distributors to earn commissions on product volume sold.

Good Products?

After the customer testimonials I read and research performed, I would say absolutely. Melaleuca’s entire mission is to provide people with products of higher value and of increased safety compared to more popular product alternatives. Melaleuca would also not have as many returning customers if the products did not offer benefits. Out of the many different health and wellness companies in this industry Melaleuca definitely stands out. The company stays with the mission and always keep the customer as their number one priority. This is quite obvious from the quality of each and every product they sell. If you have been thinking about using any Melaleuca products I would conduct some research on each one and if you feel it is a good fit, then try them out. Melaleuca is also similar to a discount shopping club like Sam's Club. You pay a one time fee of $29 and can then get 30-40% discounts on most products. Melaleuca uses a point system when you purchase product. 35 product points can get you 5-7 products each month and will cost you between $50-70. You can pick the products you want each month and will probably stay within the 35 product points.

How Does The Business Opportunity Work?

Melaleuca, like most network marketing companies allows you the distributor to get paid two main ways. Number one you earn commissions on new customers enrolled. Secondly, you earn commissions on new distributors sponsored onto your team. Your main goal is to sell as much product as possible and add to your organizational volume. It becomes fairly easy to increase your product volume sold because people are using the products each and every month and buying more. Melaleuca’s compensation structure is pretty generous. They can do this because they do not advetise. Additionally, with the network marketing business model, they are able to cut out most of the middle men and give back to their distributors. The products ship from the company and goes right to the customer. You, as a distributor, get compensated well.

Marketing The Melaleuca Products

You will be told to target your warm market. This includes your friends, family, coworkers, etc. 99% of the time I would not advocate this approach because this is the fastest way to go broke in any network marketing company, but I feel I have to go against the grain here. This is because of the product line and long positive track record of the company. You honestly would be able to have a lot of success selling product just by referring people you know personally. This is because most of the people you will talk to will see the value of the product and probably spend about the same price as they would if they continued shopping at another store. Since the product sells itself, you could use referrals and market using word of mouth. Just remember, this is not applicable for every company.

Some Final Thoughts

All in all I would say that Melaleuca is an outstanding company. They have super upper management and a superior track record, that dates all the way back to 1985. Not too many network marketing companies can say that. Regarding the products, I feel that Melaleuca has something very special and unique. The products continually help thousands of people, are very safe and are reasonably priced. I would highly recommend you become a customer if you want a safer and more effective alternative to products you currently use. If you feel that the business opportunity is a good fit for you then go ahead and give it a try. But if you do, just make certain that you have a good marketing plan in place. Your success in this industry will stem off marketing and the marketing efforts of your entire team.
