It?s hard to find someone who can exactly define what Neuro Linguistic Programming is. The term itself sounds like a scam or something that is not really scientific. On the other hand, this article hopes to make NLP a little bit clearer as we try to explain the fundamentals of NLP.

Like other psychotherapy, NLP is a form of treatment that uses communication techniques to change people. It is the use of language and the body?s senses to program the body. Neuro Linguistic Programming is all about how the 3 things that make up a person?s experience relate to one another.

Neurology deals with the study of the nervous system and the brain. Languages and communicating verbally and non-verbally is the study of linguistics. As for Programming, it deals specifically with how our body takes all this information in to process and store experiences for us.

Neuro Linguistic Programming was first developed in the 1970s by Richard Bandler and John Grinder, the co-founders was determined to find a way to recreate the processes that make one person successful to another. With NLP, you look at a person as someone with software and this software determines how they act. People can essentially manipulate this programming and create positive changes to their lives.

A lot of the problems psychologists encounter day in and day out can be fixed by Neuro Linguistic Programming. People with love problems, phobias, addiction related problems and so forth. Aside from issues, NLP can do miracles on anyone by allowing them to remove internal subconscious barriers that limit them from being achievers.

Neuro Linguistic Programming isn?t the same as other psychotherapy methods when it comes to dealing and treating mental disorders. Clients are made aware of their senses, their thoughts, their behavior and the cause of the problem, most like a bad past experience. Only when the subject is made aware can he wisely come up with his or her own goals of improving.

Maps and Modeling are terminologies in Neuro Linguistic Programming that must be first understood before going into more advance NLP. Modeling is emulating another person?s belief, behaviors and strategies to try to replicate that person?s results. If the outcome is the same as the first person, and this isn?t just any fluke, modeling can be considered successful.

Everyone has their own take of what the world around him or her is, and this is the essential definition of what maps is according to Neuro Linguistic Programming. Everyone has their own little take of what the world is to them and no two can have the same ones completely. People who have poor or unrealistic maps of the world can result in that person having problems in life.

No one can really discuss completely Neuro Linguistic Programming in one sitting or in this case one article, as it encompasses so many theories, sciences, techniques and disciplines. The hardest part about NLP is learning to focus and put yourself in another state, other than this it is very easy to do. One thing is for sure and that is NLP is here to stay.
