Baby Clothing: A Guide For New Moms

Baby clothing is no longer about providing the basic necessity for your child. With the advancement of fashion and technology, baby clothes have reached newer heights. Modern moms are very concerned about their baby's appearance and will always want to grab anything beautiful that catches their eyes.

Before heading to your shopping expedition, it's best to arm yourself with guidance from baby experts which will not only help you find the best deals, but will give you insights on how to avoid the tempting impulse purchases.

Keep Your Child's Growth In Mind

In the first year of infancy, babies grow rapidly. For new parents, this means your youngster will quickly outgrow the adorable pajama and sweaters in a blink of an eye - in no time, you'll need to buy new clothing.

It's, therefore, great to shop for a few key items for each growth period (a span of three months) rather than purchasing a heap of new clothing at one go. Also, too many same-sized baby clothes mean your child will only wear them once or twice (or never at all).

Baby clothes are marked with growth stages... there's three to six weeks, nine to twelve months and so on. Buy a week's worth of clothing for each growing stage, that way you should have plenty of garments to get you through the whole year.

Look For Efficiency

Get clothing with wide necks and secure fastenings, they're are easy to wear. Fastenings also enable you to remove and change nappy without totally undressing the baby - (best in cold seasons).

Clothing should be made of cozy material - natural cotton is the best as it's absorbent, warm, durable and allergen-resistant (doesn't irritate baby's sensitive skin).

Consider clothes with press-studs. They are quicker to dress and safer than buttons (if not well sewn, the little one can choke on them).

Also, avoid ribbons and strings as babies might wrap them around their necks. Loose strings can tighten around baby's little fingers or toes, causing pain.

Buy In Bulk

Buying cloths in bulk has significant economic advantages to parents on a budget. Many essential baby items come in affordable three or six-pack packages, and going for such offers significantly cuts down costs.

When buying bulk clothing, make sure to include numerous baby sleeping suits, basic tees, comfortable cotton pants, and warm cardigans because of frequent washing (you want your child to have something clean to wear all the time).

Attractive Designs And Color Impression

With the trending fashion, no parent would want to pick an unattractive apparel for their little one. Most would want to go for designer labels, which are great but only for special occasions. Some designer models come with special cleaning instruction that might be hard to adhere to at home.

The universal color code for baby dressing is blue for boys and pink for girls. Colors distinguish attire of female babies from male.

Concerning temperature, black (dark) clothing absorbs and retains more heat as compared to white (bright) ones. Parents can opt for bright clothing when it's sunny and vice versa.
