Building Muscle With A Purpose And A Plan!

Bet you didn't know you needed those! Many men wander into the workout room with a vague idea of just what they hope to accomplish by being there. They think that working out in general would be a good idea, and it can't hurt, right? My contention is that not only do your need a solid purpose behind spending long hours of your life working out, you also need a sound plan that will enable you to maximize your results with the smallest investment of time and energy possible.
Not that we don't like working out. We do. But to get the best results, and have them come around before we're too old to enjoy them, we need to be a bit more focused than the average gym rat! It may still take a long time to reach our goals, but having a clear set of goals, written down and focused on, will help you get there ever so much faster.
So what are your goals and purposes for your workouts? Are they to get in better overall physical condition? Are you training for a specific event or sport? Are you hoping to get into bodybuilding? Do you want to attract more women into your life? Do you want to learn how to dominate your social sphere of influence? All of these are legitimate goals and aspirations, but it's a very good idea to know exactly what you hope to accomplish.
Having clear goals will also help you to decide just which facility and equipment you need to employ. If you're looking for a better overall fitness level, and don't necessarily want or need to use free weights, then that could color your decision as to which gym to join. Conversely, if you are a person who needs the free weights or doesn't want or need all the fancy weight training machines, then you might look for a more traditional weight lifting gym, where the emphasis is on free and Olympic lifts.
Whatever your poison, make sure that you make a plan at the start of your program if at all possible. This makes it very easy to keep track of your progress and decide what if any changes you need to make along the way. If you've already embarked upon your program, then simply set goals and chart your progress from where you are now. Make sure to write everything down. Studies show that written goals have a 95% greater chance of being accomplished than those that we simply state or have in our heads. It appears to be much more of a commitment to write it down, so do so!
If your goal is to achieve a better overall physique along with becoming more socially persuasive, then you would do well to look into a workout that I use called 'The Adonis Index'. It incorporates exercise and diet designed to give a man that classic 'V' shape, deemed through the ages to be the ideal form for a man. Give it a look, and you may be surprised what you can accomplish!
