Check Out Neighboring Galaxies Through A High Magnification Telescope

Scientists as well as individual enthusiasts think of our galaxy as fascinating and incredible. The only way to see all of that is to view it through a telescope. This device is the only one that allows for enough magnification to make it possible for us to view planets, stars, and other galaxies. Some planets are so far away a distance that they get classified as a distance in light years, or amount of years it takes the image to be visible from our planet.

The telescope, by design, take in light through a tube and brings it to focus to make it efficient for further magnifying. Therefore, because there are 3 methods in this, there are different telescopes that allow for views of space in various ways. The main types of telescopes are:

* Refractor – The refractor is a long tube-style telescope that contains a large lens ending the tube, referred to as an objective lens. This kind uses a few lenses to manipulate the light before it comes to the eyepiece. The objective lens sometimes can be built of two or more lenses put together in just the right way for strong magnification. These telescopes are simple to keep up with and are very reliable for seeing all types of space objects. The refractor though has its limitations; one cannot view distant galaxies because the refractor is limited in ability. And, the refractor type telescopes are typically more expensive than the others.

* Newtonian Reflector – This type of telescope is completely different than the previously mentioned type, in that Newtonian reflectors receive light into the lens, send it to an opposite side mirror and generated view is magnified before making its way to the eye piec. This unit is much stronger than the refractor and can make it possible to see other galaxies. But, this kind needs a lot of upkeep and adjustments. These kinds, though, can be a bit less expensive than other types.

* Catadioptric – This type of telescope uses an arrangement of mirrors and lenses to shape, refocus, and beam light into a primary mirror and back to the viewing lens. This is by far the best telescope design there is. Catadioptric telescopes can magnify pretty much any space object, galaxy, or matter. They are perfect for scoping galaxies, terrestrials, and are powerful enough for terrestrial viewing and photography. This type of telescope can carry a heavy cost and look very different than all other types.

Telescopes are an amazing piece of technology that makes it possible to see things not of this world. For centuries, our cultures have been awestruck with space and all the amazing components within. Telescopes make it possible for us to look up in the sky and imagine what it is like light years into the sky.
