They were also able to pin point the precise location where estrogen binds to the gene in order to block its activity.
Since the experiments were conducted using a human gene, the researchers are quite confident that the study’s results are applicable to the human population. It is believed that women have evolved a more efficient immune system because of their significant role in the reproduction process. This does raise the question of whether men will be susceptible to the idea of treatment using female hormones.
