Established Baseline Standards in Training Sessions

As with most business schematics and models, the training aspect and personnel development of a company has increasingly been integrated in all development plans and is now also a major consideration whenever upgrades are being considered for the business. This is because successful companies have begun to accept that the most important resource of every business is the workforce behind it. This being the case, companies have taken to investing time and finances in ways to improve the overall performance and output of the work force, and this has been done by engaging the work force in comprehensive training sessions designed to improve their working knowledge and existing skill sets. Successful companies know that this task alone requires careful thinking and planning, since the training aspect is not something haphazardly put together and given to the members of the work force just to say that they were able to engage in a training exercise. Such a move is waste of company time and finances, since the training would necessarily be done on company time, and the expenses will be shouldered by the company as well. To ensure a return on investment, the training department must follow certain guidelines in setting up and executing the entire training process for the work force. These guidelines may actually vary depending upon the particular needs of the company, although there remains a set baseline for the standards. These baseline standards are the very same basic principles in which most e learning solutions are based on, since e learning modules are largely formulated to produce the fastest results in the shortest time possible, a perfect solution for most commercial and business applications of training.

1. Formulation of objectives - a learning exercise is practically useless unless there is a clear cut goal or objective to be arrived at. Learners need to have a clear view of where the entire exercise is supposed to be headed and why, so as to give them a better understanding of what it is they should have learned at the end of the exercise.
2. Establishment of strategies – Having identified why it is that the individual or group is engaging in the learning exercise, it is also expected that the trainer will inform how the learning process is going to be done. The success of the entire learning exercise is mostly contingent upon the careful planning of the strategy and techniques to be employed during the learning process, since the efficacy of the process is also quite dependent on the strategies and techniques used.
3. Sighting clear performance goals – Now that the why and the how has been clearly pointed out, it is therefore quite logical that a favorable outcome is established, just so every participant in the e learning course knows towards what end they should be working for, just so that everyone is on the same page and there will not be participants who have deviated well away from the set goal.
4. Identifying of difficulty areas – Different people will understandably have different levels of difficulty in doing specific tasks, particularly at work. An e learning session is one of the best places to identify these areas of difficulty, since this is the perfect venue to address and work out a solution to deal with such issues.

These are but a few of the established baseline standards in producing a highly effective learning exercise in a learning group, which also happen to be elements of a learning management system, used today in most successful companies and corporations.
