Ford Transit Diesel A New Van In Town

According to Ford, the top model they will be building in next two years is Transit. It will be a worthy addition to a line-up that enjoyed only in UK, more than two million sales since 1965. Performance, economy and car-like driving experience make it the first choice. Only the awkward looking pedals and poor visibility are the cons of this model but overall it looks superb. To make the Transit appeal worldwide market, Ford has done a great deal of using high quality materials to endure the wear and tear of time. Steering wheel tilt adjustments and supportive seats make it very comfortable. A small recess near the gear lever for easy access to the cellular phone is a good feature. The engine noise is noticeable during acceleration when the Transit is heavily laden. Maneuvering the van is very easy because the visibility through the cabin is outstanding. Buyers can enjoy the range of options and standard equipments to help the drives reduce fatigue and stress. Ford is planning to sell Transit all around the world in three versions of Ford Transit 2.2-liter TDCi Diesel Engine which will come in 99bhp, 123bhp and 153bhp delivering 310Nm, 350Nm and 385Nm of torque respectively. Short wheelbase and start-stop Eco tweak make the Transit more fuel-efficient by eight per cent than the predecessors. So CO2 emission is just 178g/km and it returns 42.8mpg, which make driving Ford Transit a pleasurable experience. Ford claims that the Ford Transit has an impressive load bay with the capacity of 5520 liters, 330 liters more than SWB Transit. To carry narrow and long objects there is a hatch beneath the passenger seat. The dashboard is almost identical with solid feeling buttons that gives the feel of Focus. View out is good but large A-pillars make junctions a bit risky. Despite its box like shape, the Transit moves quietly on the roads. There are chances that it will catch some crosswinds, but the well weighted direct steering feels safer. High mounted pedals are annoying because there is not much room to rest the left foot. Ford Transit Custom is very safe, thanks to the safety feature and strengthened body structure. Driver and passenger airbags are standard, along come seat mounted side airbags. As a standard, three-point seat belts are fitted with pre-tensioners. Other feature are hill start assist, hydraulic brakes assist, electronic stability control with active yaw control, anti-lock brakes, roll over mitigation. Double door locking, remote central locking, securely fitted full steel bulkhead and remote central locking are included as standard security kit. The new Transit has all improved aspects of a van but its drive is car like, with £21,245 it makes Transit a bit expensive than its rivals. If you seek the best a little premium would not bother you. The 2.2 litre TDCi engine gives around 42mpg which keeps the fuel costs very low. Fords maintenance is not that pricey either and servicing should be done every 30,000 miles or two years. The Transit has 12 year corrosion warranty too which keeps running costs low.
