Freestanding Bath: How Many Types Exist?

The opportunity to have a good soak after a long day is one of the best ways of relaxing. A freestanding bathtub would be perfect for you to have such moments. A freestanding bath is a tub that is moveable and can be installed in any part of your bathroom. They are preferred by many people because of the flexibility of installing them as compared to in-built baths which are immovable.

These baths make your bathroom look elegant while providing the relaxation you need each day. Here are the different types of freestanding tubs available in the market today:

1. Claw foot bath tubs - These were the very first types of freestanding baths to be manufactured. They are among the classic models especially on the western parts of the world. The name came from the claw feet they possess which help them be stable on the ground. They are deep enough to provide an awesome whole-body soak whenever you need it. These baths add an old-fashioned style to your bathroom if you install one.

2. Japanese Ofuro Style - These are barrel-shaped freestanding bathtubs. They are quite different from usual types of bath tubs as anyone who enters it does not lie in it but sits. This bath can be shared by many people. The name originated from Japan since it was common from the time they were invented to date.

3. Pedestal Bath - This is a variety of the claw foot range. The difference between the pedestal and claw foot bath is that the pedestal bath has a pedestal instead of claw feet. The pedestal can be decorated or undecorated, and it holds the bath tub. These baths are longer in length and are very comfortable to soak in. They are very beautiful and you can easily be lured to buy them even if you had a different tub in mind.

4. Slipper freestanding baths - These types can be either pedestal or Japanese Ofuro type. Some of the baths have four feet while others are attached to a pedestal. They have an elongated back which make you feel very comfortable while in a lying position. You will have a place to rest your head while soaking in the tub. Many people prefer this type because it is more comfortable.

Freestanding baths available nowadays can be customized to suit anyone's needs and personality. Some manufacturers have come up with tubs that have doors so that you won't have to climb over the tub. Other tubs have an option that allows you to adjust the depth of the tub. Among the most outstanding customizations of freestanding baths is whereby a bath tub has seats inside. The seats move you down to soak you completely in water and then bring you back up when you are done soaking.

There you have it. It is now up to you to choose the type of freestanding tub design you like. Actually, design might not even be your preference; rather, you might prefer certain bathtub materials or even colour aspects.
