Healthy hair strives to have, after seeing countless Pantene commercials and too many actresses sporting shimmering hair thanks to TV magic. It is a physical trait that everyone wants to have. Men want women with shiny healthy hair, and women want to experience it themselves. With such commotion around the locks on top of our head, it is significant to learn how dietary supplements can actually improve hair care.

There are a few food items that need to be included in our diet to prevent the problem of hair fall. Our body requires calcium, silica and iron. Green vegetables and the seafood provide calcium to the body. Raw oats are rich in silica. Iron can be obtained from dried fruits and cherry juice.

If your skin tends to be more oily than normal, a great diet tip for healthy skin would be to ensure you’re getting the right amount of vitamin A into your diet. It helps to maintain and repair our membranes and tissues, as well as minimizing the production of sebum which is the oily substance that secretes into our skin from the hair follicles. Foods with a high content of Vitamin A include eggs, apricots, cantaloupe and spinach.

The use of, cold-pressed nut and seed oils, such as flax seed oil, daily on salads and in any dishes that do not require heating, are great to prevent dry hair. They contain the essential fatty acids omega-3 alpha-linolenic acid and omega-6 linoleic acid. Vitamin and mineral supplements can help when our diet is out of balance.

A healthy diet, adequate exercise, enough sleep and less stress are all important components in the mission to grow long healthy hair. Oh the sacrifices we make for beautiful hair. The upside is your whole body will benefit, and you'll look great from head to toe!

The most important thing to recognize is that everyone's hair is different and therefore everyone is going to require different types of hair products. What works well for one person may not work at all for another, so it is important that a person determine what their hair type is and what type of hair style they are looking for before going out to buy any hair care products.
