Energy needs to be used to heat the water for the wash cycle. Washing your clothes in the cold water cycle will save you energy by not using the hot water.

Keep your blinds closed during the day. If you don’t have blinds go out and by some that do a great job in keep out the sun from entering your Woodlands homes or apartments. Having a great pair of blinds will cut down on the heat that is able to enter your apartment home. I have been in homes that had no blinds and during the summer you can actually feel that the area near the window is hotter.
