Coffee is a traditional beverage in most of the countries around the world. For over thousand years, it has existed in harmony with various other beverages and drinks, while preserving its peculiar taste and its characteristic trait to give a high to one who drinks it. Gourmet coffee, however, has had a shorter history of less than hundred years, although it’s a hot favorite amongst many coffee lovers.

To enjoy your cup of hot flavored gourmet coffee, you need to know what a gourmet coffee is. The coffee bean that’s not really a bean, actually are the seeds of a cherry, found on a coffee tree. A couple of ways to pull out the seed that are there inside are the wet process and dry process. Both the processes help in the extraction of the seed from the fruit.

Gourmet coffee comes in almost all the flavors you like that include, vanilla, almond, chocolate, mint, peppermint, pumpkin spice, Irish crème, Swiss mocha, French vanilla, and amaretto. There are gourmet coffees that come as caffeinated and decaffeinated ones. If you have the tendency of acidity, what you can do is sip on a gourmet coffee that is low in acid, and having a gentler nature.

Many coffee making companies like Marley coffee offer a gourmet style drink. They produce organic certified coffee and believe in the ethical treatment of farm workers and sustainable farming, making it an affordable and delicious coffee. The Marley Estate being located atop the Blue Mountains of Jamaica, the gourmet coffee produced by them is also known as blue mountain coffee.

For having the best flavor, the gourmet coffee should be fresh. Gourmet coffee beans shouldn’t be stored at the room temperature. If you are using them soon, they should always be stored in airtight containers and should be refrigerated. Place the airtight container of the gourmet coffee in the freezer if you are keeping it for some time. That will keep it fresh and won’t let the coffee deteriorate.

All you should get with you while making your cup of gourmet coffee is the right grinder for the right brewer. For 6 oz of water, you can use about 2 tablespoons of gourmet coffee powder. Prepare your cup of gourmet coffee according to the way you enjoy drinking gourmet coffee.
