Guitars Shopping For Guitar Parts

By: Jim Brown

Just as every musician has their own style of music, that reflects their background, heritage, rhythms and customized style in composing their music for others to enjoy, the musical instrument that they play their musical sounds from must be just as personal, and creative as the person that composed the music. When guitars shopping for guitar parts, musicians can buy bits and pieces of a guitar to create a genuine replica of what they feel in their soul.

These musicians start their guitars shopping for guitar parts with two areas in mind. They concentrate on the body and neck parts of a guitar and go from there. For a

body shape for Strat, the musician could select three body styles, which are standard bodies, laminate top bodies and hollow bodies. Any of these bodies would be fine sanded and come with the wiring, neck pocket and standard bridge holes already drilled.

For standard body shapes in the Strat line, the musician would know that when guitars shopping for guitar parts, he could use this body style with a pickguard because it was top routed, and that it would be cut in the usual 6-hole tremolo fashion. If the musician wanted to, he could customize this body style with a contoured heel cut that used a standard 4 bolt neck plate, and he would have better hand access when he was finished.

The musician could also choose a laminate body style for Strat, and get tone benefits from the base wood that is in actuality a 1/8 inch thick exotic top that is formed over the face contour and forearm contour. This drop-top feature makes the laminate body style look like it has an alder body, and actually projects an alder body sound but will have all of the appearances of quilt maple. He is seriously thinking about a laminate top that is wild flame on swamp ash. He thought that would be pretty cool.

For his hollow body choices for Strat, the musician really liked the idea of walnut on mahogany, but the quilted maple on mahogany had less grooves. When going guitars shopping for guitar parts the musician was interested in finding a lighter weight body, that was fully sculpted. He was seriously considering the hollow body style, because the resonation from this style made his music feel like it was alive.

The musician knew that there were at least 13 other guitar body constructions on the market so when he went guitars shopping for guitar parts, he thought he would get started with Strat, and see how he felt after reviewing all of the body styles for the other guitar body style constructions.

There were seven neck constructions to consider when he went guitars shopping for guitar parts. The Warmoth Pro with a 25 inch neck, would give him a replacement Strat that gave him a double expanding truss rod, cream or black phenolic face dots, and it had a 10 inch or 16 inch compound radius fretboard. He had five tuner hole choices with this model.

If he chose a Vintage style, he could still have the Vintage Modern construction, where the Strat was one of the feature models. He knew he could change that out with a CBS or a Tele if he felt like it. With the Vintage Modern construction, he had a large choice of standard guitar necks to choose from. There were some specialty guitar necks that he could consider too, and they were only made with Warmoth Pro construction.
