Thinking of having a professional makeover at a cosmetology salon? Wait a minute! Shouldn't you go to a skin care salon instead? Well, cosmetology is more than just hair care. It covers a wide range of services that focuses on surface-only treatments such as hair, nails, and skin. In some beauty centers, a cosmetologist is also known as a beauty specialist or an esthetician. Usually women patronize cosmetology salons but more men today are seeking these upmarket services at these salons.

You cannot restore you damaged hair. Despite what products say, you can only help its appearance but this should just be done while you are in the process of growing the damaged hair out. I speak from personal experience as well as from experiences with my clients.

Don't use hair tools too often

Overuse of electric curlers, blow dryers, curling irons, straighteners etc. damages and dries out hair. If you're using these tools every day then your haircut isn't working for you. Try a different cut or even a loose perm etc. If you do use a blow dryer, try and use one with no more than 1,000 watts, and reduce the temperature and power level as your hair dries.

Since her extraordinary recovery six years ago, Patrick continues to move rapidly forward. Not only does she still climb and play in the mountains—she topped out on the Grand Teton after 22 hours of climbing through blizzard conditions in 2004—but she also decided to make it her mission to raise awareness and money for the cancer that almost killed her. “My life’s goal is to prevent as many women as possible from going through what I experienced,” she says.

For Highlighting:

- To brighten your face, highlight the center of the forehead, bridge of the nose, and cheekbones. - Highlight the browbone to accentuate your eyes.
- By applying a white shimmer shadow to the center of the eyelid, you'll open up the entire eye area.
- To fill in a narrow face, highlight the HOLLOW of your cheeks.

Nail those casting calls!

On the more professional side of hair modeling comes the "casting call." In this case, you are one of many beautiful people competing for a position in a project.

Most times, you will be required to fill out an application and provide details on your limitations with respect to cut/color. The more flexible you are, the more likely it is you'll get the job. But be careful not to sacrifice your bread and butter (long healthy hair) for peanuts.

Loréal's Natural Match hair color crème does not rely on ammonia, and is the only one like that-this leaves your hair very lustrous, and polished, with a wonderful natural shade. Be sure to pick a color that is no more than one or two shades off of what you are now-either lighter or darker-as the color choice should be as natural as possible.

A great exercise to get the ball rolling is to standing in front of your home with critical "buyers eyes" and write down everything that comes to mind. It is always difficult for any home seller to see all the shortfalls of their own home yet it is critical in the success of the sale. To help you in this task ask trusted friends, neighbors, and family what they see when standing in front of your home.
