Health Club Choices

How many people sign up to join a new gym or health club, but after a few weeks find they are hardly ever going there and may have wasted their money? Well, join the masses of other people paying for health clubs across the country and never using them.

So, I have a solution for you. Think about it, the reason you have joined a Health Club is to get fit, right? So why not spend a little more and get a whole lot more from it? My simple idea is not new, however, I am amazed how many people don't utilise this simple and easy tool. My idea...hire a personal trainer at your Health Club - simple. The reason: You will use the Health Club, therefore you will get tremendous benefit from your hard earned money. You will also be hiring someone to design a specific programme that exactly matches your current goals and develops your programme as you get fitter. Not many of us service our own cars, so why think we can attend to our own fitness and health needs without help? Think of your trainer as a tool for speeding up results, giving motivation, selecting appropriate exercises that are fun and safe. I can hear you all saying now, "how much does this cost?". Well a trainer will cost you in the region of £35-£75 per hour, comparable to servicing costs for you car. A fair price for maintaining the most advanced machine in the world - the human body!

Your health club will be equipped with all the latest equipment already to go, so treat yourself to some new kit. What you need: The best investment for any new health club goer is some properly fitted and fitting shoes. Choose some appropriate to your favoured activity, for example don't get running shoes if you don't intend to run! Sounds obvious, but most athletic foot wear is designed for running, they lack support though for other sports. Also, choose good quality t-shirts with the latest wicking fabrics, these will keep you cool whilst you exercise and are designed to allow you to move without restriction. If you are really keen you can also treat yourself to a heart rate monitor watch, not essential as your fitness trainer will make sure your are exercising at the right intensity. Finally, don't wear your gym shoes anywhere else but the gym. This will keep them in mint condition for the gym at all times.

A health club loves members who keep spending and never attending, their business model depends on it. So lets call the bluff on fat-cat health club owners and start using our gym memberships today. Book a session with a personal trainer (sometimes the first appointment is free), its easy, and they are all a friendly bunch too - trust me! Trainers should always be appropriately qualified, although a busy trainer generally is a good trainer. A good fitness trainer will be an expert in communication and therefore motivation as well as understanding the fundamentals of a detailed exercise plan. To find an appropriate fitness trainer look at the health club notice board, or simple observe a personal trainer from a distance and see if you can work with them. If you are not looking for a body-building workout don't choose a trainer who specialises in that field. Most trainers though have a broad cross-section of exercise modalities and will be more than capable to help you.

So, join a gym or health club or employ a trainer and get results, real results. If your looking for dramatic change in your attitude to exercise make that call. If you still don't use your gym membership cancel it now, upgrade your Cable TV package and buy a comfy sofa, you'll get the same value from that as you would an unused gym membership! Convinced yet to start using your membership? Don't take my word for it, talk to your friends to see how many employ a fitness trainer. You really will be surprised how many people have found out about this ultimate health trick.
