Heart Failure Among Women

A study among the group of 515 women suffering from heart attack has found to have symptoms that were generally not present in the males going from the problem. The common symptoms among those were the presence of unusual feelings of fatigue, restless sleeps shortened breaths and acute anxiety.

Just 30% of the women informed about having chest pain, tightness and aching. Women generally more likely not tend to take the symptoms of heart attack seriously. They are less likely to go for help at early stages when the initial symptoms start showing up. The fact that if they suffer tiredness is because of the reason they had spent the last week working really hard. The most frequent and severe problem can be there with her during sleep. The most problematic thing that can happen to her is that she can have a heart attack even when she is crossing by a road or busy working in her home.

The statistics revealed that women are at a greater risk to suffer from heart attack than men. Due to the changes she experience in her estrogen level as she gets older. Women taking contraceptive pills and addicted to smoking are also at greater risk to go through the problem. For women the age factor alone can also be sufficient to make them fall into heart failure. Comparing to the men, when a woman suffers a heart attack while being in the hospital, she has lesser chances of surviving it. Relating the heart failure with the age factor, on average, women tend to fall victim to the heart diseases ten years later than men. It there for becomes more essential for women to get them self educated about the cardiac diseases they tend to have and the regular medical check up they must have to go through.

Though a woman can develop the disease of heart failure at any stage of life, but if she has a family history of falling victim to a cardiac disease she is more likely to develop with it. The women need to realize the fact that the heart failure or heart diseases are their number on killer, more over it is not a disease which has to do with the men only.

There are several options available to them for treatment. But the sooner the problem is diagnosed the effective the treatment will be. One's health is one's own responsibility that is why one is expected to take care of it in order to have a quality life.
