There is probably no aspect of your golf game that can't be enhanced through practice. However, unless you are retired or have private means, your day is most likely filled with job and family responsibilities. So when you do have spare time for some golf, you'd much prefer to be playing a round instead of practicing. Just about the best way to boost the value of your restricted practice time is by using golf practice drills. Through dealing with certain aspects of your game and concentrating your practice, you will be able to get more done in your practice periods and be happier with your golf game when you get onto the course.

When you're faced with different types of shots during play on the golf course, you really only get one chance. Golf practice drills make it possible for you to set up your difficult shots repeatedly. Then not only will you be able to develop things like precision and distance control, as you will also gain confidence. Increased self-assurance could have a more significant impact on your skills than any golf swing tip or new putting method.

Would you like to significantly improve your putting? Include this drill. Get around 20 golf balls and position them in a plus sign or cross with the hole in the middle. You will now have four lines of 5 balls each. Now, putt each golf ball into the cup. Either clear a full line at a time or putt in the 4 nearest balls, the four second nearest and continue accordingly. You may increase the pressure and make this golf practice drill more helpful, by compelling yourself to start from the beginning on any occasion you miss a putt. By emphasizing the misses, you can increase the pressure, specially after you have putted in 15 or 16 straight. Should you want to fine tune your distance putting, and really become aware of what a good putt actually is, this is the practice drill to persevere with.

Some golfers try hard to keep a triangular shape with their shoulders and arms as they are putting. Now here is something to try. Pick up one of your other clubs and place it across your chest with the shaft beneath the arms. Putt the golf ball without dropping the club. Developing an accurate and consistent putting stroke, will be much easier, if you incorporate this golf practice drill in your standard practices.

Now that your putting is on the way to improvement, your golf swing may need consideration. Proper body rotation is an important part of successful golf swing technique. This golf practice drill develops the correct body rotation. Take one of your clubs and hold it behind your head with the shaft resting on your shoulders. Stand as if you're about to tee off. Don't slack off as this is a drill to get your posture right. Turn round until the shaft of the club behind your head is pointing straight up and down. Now finish the drill as you rotate the waist. Go through the impact area as if the golf ball was there and continue to the follow through position. As you go through your practice routine, stop and include this drill every so often. This will help your body become familiar with the correct feeling of rotating your upper body.

It should now be obvious that the fastest way to improve your overall game is to put together a practice routine using a variety of golf practice drills. Dedicated practice as shown will help you progress in whatever practice time you can fit in with other obligations.
