How To Cut Your Kid's Hair

If you have little children, you may be ready to take them to get their first haircut. Have you ever though of saving a little money and learninig how to cut your kid's hair? Many parents all over the country are catching on and giving their kids the trim. Here are some tips to support you learn how to cut kids hair:

The first thing that you need to do is get your kid to sit and stay still. This might be a difficult task. You might want to look for some sort of distraction. Try giving them a toy or a treat of some kind. Once they are finally sitting down, you can moist their hair and get started.

It is a good idea to keep the clippers out of sight. A kid might get frightened if they see the scissors coming towards them. Simply talk to your kid calmly as you start cutting their hair. Keep them occupied as you continue to cut. Once you are all done, sweep up the hair and get them out of their chair!

When a kid is younger it is a lot easier to save a few dollars and cut their hair yourself. Make sure that you use these tips and do not forget safety. There are special scissors out there that you can buy that you can use to cut a kid 's hair. If a kid were to get a hold of them, they would not be able to injure themselves. Start looking around and see what you can find and get started!

When your young kid 's hair starts looking straggly, it's time for a hair cut. Unfortunately, your son or daughter is probably highly mobile and most likely resists requests to sit still for any period of time. Therefore, if you plan to learn how to cut kids hair, arm yourself with these good strategies:

Play pretend with your child days before you plan to give a haircut. Set up a special chair that is only used for doing hair. Allow your child to brush and comb your hair while you sit in the special seat. Then reverse roles. Create an appointment for your child to get her haircut. Put the appointment on a refrigerator calendar. Remind your child daily about the upcoming appointment.

Prepare for the haircut by placing the special chair in front of a TV or large mirror. Lay out the following materials: scissors, hand mirror, towel, spray bottle and comb. Place your child in the chair and wrap a towel around his neck. Use a barber drape if available. Use the spray bottle to wet your child's hair with water, and run a comb through the hair to work out any tangles.

Tell your kid that your are going to start cutting her hair. Start trimming the bangs or around the front of the kid 's face. This is typically the most difficult area to cut. Trim the bangs by cutting from the outside of one eyebrow to the outside of the other eyebrow.

Cut the remainder of your kid 's hair. Start by dividing the hair into four parts. Hold the separate parts with clips or ties. Place the first section of hair between your index finger and forefinger and then slide your fingers down until you reach the desired length. Cut the hair below your fingers. Repeat with the remaining three sections. Comb out the hair and trim any remaining areas that don't look even.
