The First Steps To Complete With Facebook

1. If you don't already have an account, go sign up for one. All you need is a valid email.

2. Edit your account settings, (birthday, name, etc..)

3. Fill out your personal information section. This is the area where you can list any of your websites and contact information. This is how people will be able to find you and see your message. Make sure you tell people a little bit about yourself.

4. Start to search for friends. The software Facebook uses allows you to invite people who are on your contact list on your email server.. You can also locate high school friends, college friends and even coworkers. One of the coolest things about this website is how many old friends and past acquaintances you'll find and be able to reconnect with.

5. Upload any relevant pictures and videos. Pictures help your viewers make a connection with you. After all, a picture is worth a thousands words and video is pretty self explanatory.

6. Fill out the about me section and list what you do, what you offer and how you can provide value to people..

Where The Marketing Comes In

1. The most important thing you must keep in mind is that Facebook is not the only web site you market on. You use Facebook as part of your marketing web.

2. Spread your message. Some ways this can be accomplished is by starting your own group, joining groups, status updates and providing any relevant information in your profile. Just make sure that you are not spamming or blatantly pitching your business opportunity.

3. Provide your friends with valuable content and helpful links, maybe even some of your own content.

4. Join groups and participate in forum discussions.

5. Post useful info.

6. Always think of how you can provide your friends with value.

7. Make sure you are easily accessible. List your contact info.

8. Include a web form on your profile. You can do this by typing in 'profile box' in the search bar and simply install the application. This will allow you to have people instantly opt-in to your list without leaving your page.

9. Send people to your website via the status update tool.

10. Connect with people through the instant messaging and email function.

11. Create and sustain relationships. After all, most businesses are built on strong relationships and you can do this by using Facebook.

12. Be yourself. People love uniqueness.

13. Go to groups and add friends. More than likely if you find a group you're interested in or applies to your business, you will find the same types of people (the perfect prospects).

Things To Remember

1. There is a price that comes with Facebook even though it's free. You have to provide people with valuable information, keep in constant contact and act as if you were actually physically with these people in a real life setting.

2. Don't add too many friends per day. Facebook doesn't have a set limit, but will alert you if you're adding too many too fast. Space your friend requests about 3-5 minutes apart.

3. Be very consistent. Don't create a Facebook account and never use it. Spend about 30 minutes on Facebook daily and make some connections with people.

4. You can also use the new paid advertising feature that Facebook offers if you would like to and it fits your advertising budget.
