How to Decide on a Suitable Hair Clinic

The first thing to do is to work out the kind of hair loss treatment that you are going to undertake. The degree of cost and amount of surgery will decide how seriously you need to look into your choice of hair clinic. Certainly if surgery is involved there is a need to be very careful in the selection process as these procedures can't be reversed, poor surgery stays with a person for the rest of their life and as with all surgery there is ultimately a risk to the patient's life. Other treatments may not be life threatening however they naturally can cost a lot of money. This is especially the case where patients have to go to the clinic on a regular basis for continuing treatment.

You should begin by finding out about the particular hair clinics that you need to decide between. Only looking at the clinic's web site or studying their advertisement brochure will only inform you what they want you to know. While this information is good to look at it will not tell you of any problems that there have been. The easiest thing to do next is to search for the actual place on the internet followed by words such as complaints or problems. People who have had real problems will often put their stories on the web to try and get the information out and to warn other possible customers. If you find anything that looks discouraging it is best to move on and look at the next clinic.

You need to try and find out how state of the art the equipment used in the clinic is. A visit to the clinic to view the facilities is the best idea. Equipment that is being used on a regular basis should be clearly visible. During this time you can also look at the cleanliness of the facilities.

The most important part in the treatment is the hair specialist or surgeon used and you should find out as much data about them as possible. You should try to find out how many years the surgeon has been specialising in hair transplantation. Plainly somebody with little experience in this field might not be the best selection. Likewise, if the surgeon only works in this field part time then experience may be little. Work out how many jobs the surgeon does out in one day. If a lot of different people are seen, it coud be that you won't get the particular attention you need. Each surgeon will have a reputation for their work and finding out how they are regarded by other surgeons is an essential piece of information. There is also the case that, specialists may delegate certain tasks to other less experienced staff in the clinic. You have to know how hands on the surgeon will be.

The most important information can be found out by talking to past clients of the clinic. You need to ask for a list of patient's names and contact numbers. These should all be able to give details personally of their experiences in their treatment. You should also ask for, and view, a set of clinical before and after photos. It is important that these show enough detail and are of a good quality.

Joining hair loss forums on the internet can be a valuable source of information. You can put enquiries and search for any previous posting about a particular clinic.

Choosing a hair clinic can be a hit and miss task, unless you are able to put some effort in doing the necessary research. The information is out there, you just have to take some time looking for it. People are usually willing to share their experiences, if they have been especially good or bad, you just have to find them.
