I am yet to find a suicide case that was not as a result of some kind of depression or the other. Save for fear of something else happening to them, people who kill themselves do so because they can’t find another way through their situation. This is the very evidence of classic depression. But the truth remains that there is hardly any situation that one can’t find a solution out of. So, never thing it’s too late for you, no matter how depressed you are.

In modern day America, many people refer to depression as “the blues.” Yes, one time or another, we've all had it before. But it ain't all the time that someone feels like he's got to hurt himself or somebody else. That kind of depression is clinical. At times like that, what you need is a doctor.

Depression is an illness that affects everybody. You could be black or white, green or orange; as long as you’ve got feelings, depression is one of them. Now here’s the catch: not everybody is manic or clinical depressive. If you are one of those, you need help, and you need it fast. Talk to friends that truly love and care for you and they will help you out… much more than you can help yourself.

There is a type of depression known as seasonal affective disorder. It is the kind of depression that people get only during specific seasons of the year, usually autumn and winter due to fewer hours of daylight. But regardless of the type, don't allow yourself to drift too long in ANY depressive mood.

Depression rates have increased globally in recent years. There was a time when the syndrome was strictly an adult thing, but increasingly younger people are beginning to experience it as well. Something must be happening in the world these days to trigger that, and you ought to be looking to find it out and stop it, before it stops you.

Some countries of the world observe that not many in their population suffer from the symptoms of depression. On the flipside, some also learn that too many of them suffer from the disease. There is no selection process or criterion, but apparently folks in the first world are doing something wrong by it. You can fight and win the war against depression, if you get informed on how to.

People in different cultures experience depression in different ways. The symptoms they may complain of might not be so much sadness as it is something physical, or inability to concentrate. In other cultures, it might be a desire to hurt someone or to end it all. Depression is simply something that no one should make light of.

Lack of energy and that nagging feeling of being worn out all the time is something that is common to people suffering from depression. The flipside of this phenomenon is that you could be all over the place, pointlessly pacing and doing nothing. Hey, it's depression, and the thing is just nasty. You can't allow it to take over your life.
