When it comes to UGG boots, there seems to be three kinds of people. Those who love UGG boots, those who hate UGG boots, and those who just aren't sure what UGG boots are -- but, when I’m finished here, I’m sure, they'll fall into the first category. So, here I’ll address those of you who don't know what an UGG boot is.

UGG boots are created using very high quality sheepskin which is called ‘twin faced’-meaning that they’re treated both on the outside (skin side) and the inside (wool side). This unique material allows the boot to breathe and wick hence keeping the feet dry. Since sheepskin naturally insulates UGG boots keep bare feet warm in temperatures as low as -30F. Sturdy stitching and sole, together with the fact that sheepskin is water resistant by nature make UGG boot a very durable and well constructed one.

Made of 100% sheepskin that will keep your feet dry and comfortable UGG boots became popular during World War I and II. Used by aviators to keep their feet warm while flying in non-pressurized planes UGG boots were originally trademarked in Australia. In the 1960s Australian surfers would put on UGG boots to warm their feet after coming in from riding the waves, and people in Australia would often wear these boots around the house during the mild winters. Since then UGGs have caused a craze around the world, proving to be a hit in cold and warm countries alike. What’s more, UGG boots continue to stand their ground as one of the trendiest statement pieces in today’s world of fashion.

These boots are very light even though they do look heavy. Walking in UGG boots feels like one is walking around in socks or slippers. These boots conform to each person’s individual feet and provide a snug and not a tight fit.

Due to their big and ‘odd’ appearance UGG boots have been regarded as unstylish and out of fashion. But I believe that it is this feature that makes these boots stand out in the crowd. Basically "UGG" is short for "ugly" - so, "UGG boots" apparently meant "ugly boots." But weren’t these boots brought into existence because of the comfort and warmth they provided to the feet? The answer lies in the fact that UGG boots were first used by the sheep herders in Australia. Imagine walking miles on a terrain in a pair of high heel ‘fashionable’ shoes. By the end of the day one would have blisters the size of a baseball. So comfort I believe is the prime USP of UGG boots.

UGGs look great on both guys and girls. There are many styles and colours in UGG boots. It is hard to keep track of them all. Men’s UGGs come in more basic, classic colours and styles, but for women, it’s anything that goes in terms of colours and styles. After all, women need a pair of shoes for every outfit, and, with UGG Boots, you can almost do that. Children, in particular, look super cute in UGGs. Also, the soft and comfortable boots are extremely durable and will hold up to rough children’s play. It is recommended that while buying UGGs one should choose a size smaller than usual due to the fact that the boots are cut rather large.
UGG boots may not be the most flattering boot, however, what it lacks in looks, it makes up for in comfort.
