It That One of Those Pyramid Things?

Alas, that is one of the favorite questions asked when I am explaining how to improve someone’s financial life. When I expose the fact that most people can’t afford to retire at the scheduled time stated by the Social Security Commission, or when I unveil the fact that it is possible to earn up to $1,000,000 an 3-5 years by following a few simply steps.

A Pyramid is readily accepted in all other aspects of life except in Home Based Business arena. The complaint is; “all of the money is made by the people at the top”. How awful, what type of organization would ever do that. Well, every country, government, corporation, organization, association, church, and family that exists follows the pyramid example. The person, king, president, CEO, director, pastor, husband or wife makes the most money. They are responsible for running the entity so they make most of the decisions and the get all of the recognition for doing such a great job regardless to who works the overtime. The person at the top is ultimately responsible for the people at the bottom. The difference with the typical pyramid is if you happen to be at the bottom you usually stay there. Of course, some will make it to upper-management but most will not.

Not so with a Home Based Business. You will never own the company, that is not what I am saying, but you will have the opportunity to progress in a Home Based Business by leaps and bounds over the opportunity to progress at a typical job. Your success in a Home Based Business is not dependent on who likes you, or who you kiss up to. Your success in the Home Based Business is determined by how serious you are to get to the top. It is determined by how much knowledge you have about your product or service, how much you improve your skills, how customer service savvy you are, how willing you are to work on yourself, how much belief you have in yourself and how serious and determined you are to make a positive change in your life and the lives of your family.

Most jobs don’t offer everyone the ability to grow as they see fit, regardless to race creed or color. Your opportunity to excel and your progress is usually impeded but your supervisor who tells you when you can come and go or eat and sleep, while macro managing all of you work. Your Supervisor will determine how much of a raise you will get or if you get one at all, and if you think you are going to make more money than they do – good luck with that.

A Home Based Business, on the other hand will pay you what you are worth. If you focus, use the system, and do the work - you will get paid for the work you do. The money you can make is awesome. Think about your current position. What were you making five years ago? Now, what are you making? Close your eyes and imagine what you will be making five years from now. If your answer is a million dollars, you can stop reading. If you answer is not a million dollars, read on.

In some Home Based Businesses, working part-time in five years, you could become a millionaire. Not all people do and most people don’t. There are many reasons people fail: they don’t believe in themselves or their product or service, they can’t conceive make a million dollars in their life-time - although people do it daily, they don’t work their business like a business, they work it like a hobby or they don’t get support by their friends or family and sometimes their Home Based Business itself.

We are so trained to just fall in-line and do as we are told starting as children. That is ok for a child but when we grow-up, we should start to think for ourselves especially when it comes to our financial well-being. Work for one of those “pyramid things” is great if you are happy and provided for and you don’t want any more. But if you are not happy, struggling to get by and want more, you need to decide. The decision will be will you work for a pyramid thing have a glass ceiling? Or work where you can be all that you want or can imagine you can be. Why not try both for a while just to see which one you like the best.
