Leading the Charge: 5 Steps to Become a Leader

To have success in any business, and real success in life you must be a leader. This is all about gaining confidence in yourself, you don't have to try to change the person that you are. You can follow these 5 steps to become a leader, and create a new self image of confidence and leadership, that will in turn change how others view you as well.

1. Create a Vision
Throughout history, all great leaders always had a vision. It's a strong vision that they would not give up for anything. A leader knows exactly where they are going and go after it with determination and a knowing that it is their only possible outcome. Others are magnetized to the leader as they can see that this is someone who knows where they are going. This is an absolute must if you want to become a leader. Without this, you can never lead because you will not be going anywhere.

2. Implement a Good System
Change in anything in life is incredibly hard unless you apply a good system both consistently and effectively. If you want to change your mindset you follow laid out exercises and do them everyday. These are simply a system to achieve a specific result. If you want to get from point A to point B, the shortest route is a straight line. Following a clear straight path, or system, will get you from A to B much more quickly than if you constantly change your direction.

3. Add Value
If you don't add value you have nothing to offer someone. Without more capabilities, resources, and knowledge than the next person about getting from A to B, they won't have a reason to follow you. They would simply go find someone who can give them extra information. Adding value is simple: education. Learn everything you can and never give up your education. To be an effective leader you must always be learning, keeping up to date, and understanding that you never have all the answers.

4. Give That Value to Others
When you give your value to others you actually increases, instead of decreasing, your own value. When you are giving others good information and knowledge, and not looking for them to give you anything in return, you become more and more of a leader to those people. You will have confidence in the abundance of information, prospects, wealth, etc around you and know that helping other people is really helping yourself.

5. Expect Your Followers To Be Leaders
The principal applies to everyone, your followers will need to become leaders themselves to achieve the success they are seeking. Show them this article, or relay this information. Give them any resources, tools and education that assisted you, and then let them go on their own path. Teach them how to create their own vision, and expect them to stop following you.
