Learners License Test - Where You’re Driving Journey Begins

By: Dave Treadstone Click author's name for more of his/her articles

Before you can apply for your learners license test, it is required to complete, in a majority of states, the teen driver education course or drivers ed as it is more commonly known, which is available at many high schools and various independent agencies throughout the United States and Canada. Additionally, you may take your driver education class on the internet, which to me, is very convenient, so it is not necessary for you to spend a whole Saturday afternoon cooped up in a little classroom and the best part is, if you do not get something you will be able to review it any time you want, unlike a classroom in which you get it either at that moment, or you do not.

Before you can apply for your learners license or G1 learners license test, after completion of your online drivers ed course, you must go to your local motor vehicle agency and pass a vision screening as well as a test of your knowledge of road rules and signs.

By taking a Ministry-approved beginner driver ed course in Canada you may qualify for additional benefits like a reduction in the minimum G1 licensing period and reduce your insurance premiums.

Many first-timers do not pass their written test for their learners license test because of not taking time to learn the basics. It is important to intensely study the driver's handbook the DMV gives you as it teaches you road signs and rules and usually has a sample test for you to try. Educational websites exist that give you sample written driving test packages for a price exclusive to your state and many different other training systems on the Internet that will really help you pass the DMV test the first time you take it.

Once you've passed the exams, you’ll receive either a permit or license that will allow to finish the practical driving practice and then after you've completed that you'll be under the laws and stipulations enacted by your state and local governments. Having passed the learners license test and received your permit or license, you can now learn to drive while accompanied by a fully licensed driver subject to the restrictions and conditions stated and they vary greatly from state to state so you will need to clarify exactly what they are, and adhere to them.

Before taking your road test for your license, you need to get as much experience as you can by driving in all types of weather and road conditions and take along an experienced driver with you to provide guidance.

Parents Influence:

Whether the parents are aware of this fact or not, their driving behavior is the number one influence over their teenagers driving attitude, so it is imperative that they set a good example by showing their young driver to be a careful and safe driver and that safety starts long before they first get behind the wheel. You see, they have been scrutinizing and analyzing your every driving habit good or bad for their entire life, therefore discussing what things are necessary to pass the learners license test and the skills required to be a safe driver, should start well before your teen is about to drive and place a high level of importance on it.
