There are various kinds of bath soaps sold in the market today. However, one must consider a few important things first before deciding on the type of bath soap to purchase. You may need to decide based on personal preferences or lifestyle choices. Your skin type may also play a vital role in choosing bath soaps.

Bar or Lotion

Men and women have to choose between a bar or lotion type of soap. Technically, there is a huge difference between the two. If you prefer smelling clean and crisp, you may need to settle on bar soaps instead. But if you adore that flowery kind of scent, then lotions will suit you best.

• Bar Soaps
The bar type of bath soaps may provide you with fewer options. Since most of them come fragrance-free, there aren’t many choices available in the market. Unlike lotions, bar soaps are simple and extremely reliable to use. They also suit a busy person’s lifestyle since it can be washed off easily from the body.

In the long run, bar soaps prove to be a lot less pricey than lotions. They do not easily diminish in supply like lotions do. The cost effectiveness of this product makes it a popular choice amongst people of different races.

Bar bath soaps, however, have a major disadvantage. They leave more soap scum in your skin than lotions do, hence, making your skin dry and scaly.

• Lotions
Lotions are especially popular to people who love to smell nice. Since most of these products come scented, people are enticed to purchase such kind of soap.

Those who are uncomfortable with the idea of sharing also favor lotions over bar soaps. These come in bottled containers which make it easy for families to share one same product. This also limits the spread of germs and other diseases from one person to another.

Lotions may cause the possibility of using excess amounts of soap in the body. With the way they are designed, people may not be able to use them conservatively. However, if you can use the product in moderation, then lotions could serve you just right. It lets your body stay cleaner for longer periods whilst leaving the scent as is.

The Type of Skin

The type of skin is very essential in choosing what kind of soap your body needs. This can help prevent surprise skin reactions and other allergies as well.

• Normal Skin
Having a normal skin makes the decision process so much easier. This only means that your body can use different types of bath soaps without worrying about irritants and allergies. You can enjoy scented to unscented products and you may use variations of soap as you wish.

• Sensitive Skin
If you rash easily, then you may have the sensitive type of skin. You have to take extra caution when deciding or switching from one product to another. Usually, it’s safe and savvy to stick to all-natural and organic products.

• Oily Skin
People with such skin type should find bath soaps that are formulated for oily skin. It is important to realise that scrubbing vigorously and cleansing more often can result to severe skin issues. It is also wise to ring the doctor if oily skin problems persist. They may recommend some bath soaps that can work well for your skin type.
