My Recommended Resources for Successful Online Marketing

By: Val Taylor Click author's name for more of his/her articles

my blog reflects some of the marketing tools and life products I use to market online and for personal growth.

Today, let’s focus on email marketing, not spam marketing. According to Wikipedia, Email Marketing is a form of direct marketing which uses electronic mail as a means of communicating commercial or fund raising messages to an audience. Wikipedia also states the term email marketing is generally used:

For the purpose of enhancing the relationship with a customer or prospective customer.

As a way of adding advertising to emails

Research has shown in America in 2006 alone over $400 million was used on email marketing.

I used email marketing in my business as a tool to reach new customers but also as a way to build relationships automatically through the use of the auto responder email feature. The auto responders are way to manage your email list and are used as a way to build a relationship with a new email subscribes through follow up emails after a prospect has left your website. You can use the emails to teach people about your products and you can send as many as you would like on the days you like. The great thing about auto responders is you can use modify the email messages.

The product I use in my online email marketing strategy is Aweber. I like Aweber because it has a reasonable price and is very user friendly. My favorite feature of Aweber is that the email list I build belongs to me and not Aweber or any other business. In the event I decide to try a new business, I will be able to use that list of prospects or customers to introduce to my new business venture.

Many people are not in favor of email marketing, because they believe it is spam. Aweber has a policy which states that if you are using its auto responders to send emails to those who did not request it, that is spam and strictly prohibited. Here is a portion of the service agreement:

Spamming, or the sending of unsolicited email, using an email address, URL that is maintained on an AWeber Systems machine, or directing traffic to a webpage that contains any reference to AWeber Systems is STRICTLY prohibited. AWeber Systems will be the sole arbiter as to what constitutes a violation of this provision. This action WILL RESULT in immediate termination of your account without refund.

Their antispam policy further states:

Things You May Not Do With AWeber

Send email to people who have not specifically requested that information from you.
Post irrelevant links to your website in discussion forums, newsgroups or classifieds sites like Craigslist.
Use email lists that you purchased, rented, leased, or in any way bought from a third party.
Send unsolicited email through a third party in order to try to get people to sign up to your AWeber-managed email list, or to visit a website that you market using AWeber in any way.
This includes trying to get people to sign up on an AWeber web form that you have placed on your website OR trying to get them to email your AWeber email address.

Aweber cost $19 per month and has helped me introduce my business to thousands. If email marketing is a strategy you're thinking about see Aweber Email Marketing and for others view My Recommended Resoures
