Obama's Healthcare Reform Creates Millions of Healthcare Jobs

The recession has finally come to a long awaited end, according to a good number of economic experts. Signs indicate that the worst financial crisis is coming to its last days. Boosted by healthcare reform, positions in the healthcare industry especially are expected to explode in the next several months. Careers as nurses, lab technicians, radiologists, and anesthesiologists are all excellent options to look at if you're thinking about working in the health care field.

“Healthcare will be the place to be for stable positions with great pay,” says Donna Hill, a corporate career counselor for a complimentary online information service. “If you take the time now to become a registered nurse or become certified as a lab tech, you will be in a very good position in only a few months. Healthcare reform is expected to create millions of new jobs.”

Happily, a diploma in healthcare can be achieved in only a short amount of time. Through the use of Classes online, you can start and complete certificate programs in a matter of months. The usual time to finish a diploma program is three years or less. This timeframe ensures that workers can complete certificates or online degrees just in time for the boom in job growth in the healthcare business.“If employees are looking for the perfect time to switch into a well-paying business, now is it,” says Hill. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, registered nurses make over $26 per hour; vocational nurses make $18 per hour; dental assistants $15 per hour.
In addition, positions throughout the healthcare business, from hospital administrators to data entry workers, are expected to explode as healthcare expands in both the private and public sectors. “If even one of a number of healthcare reform plans is passed, it will create a whole new branch of the healthcare business,” says one expert. Any change in the current health care system would require thousands of social service employees, information systems specialists, lab technicians, and administrators, etc. The list of employment opportunities goes on. New job creation estimates run from 500,000 to 1.5 million.

Healthcare isn’t the only business likely to benefit in job growth from the government’s actions during the economic downturn. Bills to improve green enterprises like fuel-efficient vehicles and power-generating wind turbines are rolling through Congress. The entire energy business will likely experience extra special growth from these bills. Education is also likely to come roaring back to life. Even though other businesses will be affected for the better, nothing comes close to the increase the healthcare business is expecting to see in jobs. Even in the nastiest days of the recent recession, while other industries were drying up and shutting their doors, healthcare created over 554,000 new positions across the U.S.

Those who are opposed of healthcare reform point to this projected employment creation as evidence that proposed reform bills will spend more taxpayer funds, contrary to the President’s and congressional Democrats’ claims. The larger goverment is indicated by the increase in positions, which leads to higher government spending. Regardless of partisanship, a state-run healthcare plan would result in a massive increase in healthcare positions.
