Oily Skin

The excess oil released by overactive oil glands onto the skin must be removed regularly or the pores will get clogged and acne will develop. Therefore, people with oily skin are advised to cleanse their face twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. Some might think the more often they cleanse, the less likely their pores will get clogged and as a result, less acne and a better skin. Unfortunately, that's not the way the oil gland works.

When oils first appeared on the skincare market, most of them did a really great job and many people started to become interested in this type of creams. Some companies wanted to come up with new types of oils, but the results weren't what they expected. The structure of cells in the dead skin cells layer gets disturbed and the bacteria find an easy passage through to the epidermis. Normally these dead cells protect the skin against such damages. The skin is a miracle. These dead cells if allowed to accumulate will make the skin look very bad, but if totally removed, the skin is left defenseless to an extent. We have to arrive at a fine balance in maintenance of the skin.

There are several natural therapies and remedies that are claimed to be effective in caring for oily skin. A mixture of limejuice with cucumber juice is a good remedy that needs to be applied on the skin half an hour before taking a bath. A few drops of eau de cologne may be added to the mixture too. This mixture removes excess oil from the skin. It may also clear the pores in the process and thus prevent development of acne.

Keep your skin clean at all times. When your skin is unbearably oily, it does not only look dirty. It feels dirty! To prevent this, keep it clean at all times by washing your face at least twice daily using glycerin soap. It will also help if you can splash on some clear cool water on your face several times during the day to remove excess oil.

This is a wonderful part of the skincare process for oily skin types because you can treat your face with a mask three times per week to cut back the oil production and purify your pores. Look for a mask that uses Kaolin clay, which works to tighten on your face and pull out the oil and impurities from the surface of your skin. You will immediately feel smoother and fresher as soon as you treat with a mask like this that is specialized for oily skin.
