You thought you'd like to start an online business of your own. Maybe it was just to make a little extra cash, but you hoped that someday you'd be fortunate enough to make enough at it that you could fire your boss and live off your business proceeds. But then reality hit. You didn't really have any merchandise that anyone would want to buy.
But you're wrong - you do!
That product is information! Yes, everyone knows something. You could be an online coach or tutor. Online coaching for profit is an easy method to make some serious cash on the Internet, and it costs very little to get started. You can prepare a course based on the knowledge already in your head and teach it online. With today's technology your students don't have to live in you city, your state, or even your country. and you don't have to go through the expense of renting classroom space. You could coach for profit on your own web page, you could instruct using videos, over the telephone, with what's become known as a "webinar," (an online seminar), or just coach by sending a meaningful series of emails.
Think about what this could mean. The Internet's main use for most people is to find information. Google has built a multi-million dollar business around this. They've studied and analyzed and theorized until they've become the very best at guiding Internet users directly to just what they're looking for. If you're teaching anything (especially "how to" type of courses) Google will love you and send you lots and lots of free traffic!
Still don't think there's anything you can teach online for profit? Don't give up. What kind of information do you possess that others might be eager to pay to learn?
Perhaps there's something about your job. Are you pastry chef? Do you sell insurance? Do you drive a truck? Do you make furniture? These are all things you can teach to people who want to do what you do themselves.
Maybe it's a hobby. Do you do macram?? Make candles? Knit? Bake a quiche? Hunt deer? Lots of people search for hobby information on the Internet.
Another way to come up with your expertise is to recognize what people are always asking you for. Maybe you often help your neighbors plant their gardens. Maybe you know how to install siding. Have you planned a wedding? Can you care for new-born kittens? These are also things other people want to learn about and you can do it! Simply organize that knowledge onto a website, an audio file, a video, or . . . the sky's the limit!
By now you're thinking of a few possibilities. More will occur to you. Online coaching for profit is a great way for new entrepreneurs to make money. Most of your effort is up front when you create your lesson plans. Then you can reuse the course over and over again with new sets of students. You'll get even better at it as you go along because your students will ask questions. You'll quickly integrate these learning experiences into your course, making it better and better.
Now it's your turn. Create your course and start advertising for people who want to learn about your topic. Soon you'll not only be making that profit you were looking for, but you'll be having a ball too!
