Paid Traffic Scams On The Internet: What To Avoid

To earn money online you basically need to drive visitors towards your website. Traffic is one of the main key ingredients necessary to become successful as an Internet marketer. Newbies of marketing online are hungry to purchase loads of traffic for what seems like a good price. Unfortunately, the sites that guarantee flocks of visitors to you will only end up giving you disappointments. Paying for bulk traffic is simply ineffective and a waste of your hard-earned money.

Be very cautious of sites that guarantee their traffic. 10,000 visitors for ten bucks or 100,000 visitors for less than one hundred dollars sounds pretty sweet, doesn't it? You may notice your website hits dramatically increase, but why aren't you making any sales? At least one of these thousand visitors would be interested and purchase from you, right? Unfortunately, most of these traffic sites that promise truck loads of traffic send ghost visitors to you. By using manipulative software and other tactics, these companies know how to create hits to your website without sending actual visitors.

It's basically an outright scam. You're not making money off of any of the traffic they send you and when you complain about it they just blame you for not being able to convert the visits to sales. They always have a disclaimer that says it's your responsibility to turn their guaranteed traffic into to sales. How are you supposed to do that when the visitors aren't even real? Hope for a miracle online, I guess.

Some of these companies actually bring you real human visitors. Some will send real people, but the quality of this traffic is very poor. they are most likely offered cash incentives to view your page. Because they get paid for every page they view, your site is barely seen before they move on. These people aren't interested in what you have to offer and probably don't even give it a glance. The only thing that matters to them is how fast they can click their mouse and get paid. This is far from targeted traffic and sure ain't worth one cent of your money.

Even investing in traffic through ezine ads can prove to be very ineffective. Those who sell ezine advertisements claim that your ad will be sent to their high quality list of thousands of individuals via email. This would be a very good deal, but only if your ad was sent out by itself. Fact is, your ad is sent out to their lists along with hundreds of other people's ads at the same time. Most people will never get to read it because they consider it spam and delete it without even opening the message. Sound familiar? I know it does to me especially since I delete them daily the same way.

Most of the victims who fall for these traffic scams are new to Internet marketing. The first and most important thing they are taught is to generate traffic to their websites. Almost instinctively, they search for quick and easy ways to grab these visitors from anyone offering it at low cost and in large masses. They learn a painful and costly lesson that traffic which is guaranteed is not quality traffic at all.

In my opinion, the only traffic worth buying comes from PPC (Pay Per Click) advertisements. You place your ad in major search engines and only pay when someone who makes a search inquiry clicks on the ad. Now you are paying for laser targeted traffic because the people who click on your link are searching for what you have to offer. PPC is a powerful and well known promotional strategy that can produce good quality visitors fairly quickly.

If you need to purchase traffic, it can effectively be done through the investment of Pay Per Click advertisements. It's wise to avoid companies that promise huge amounts of traffic at bargain prices. You can't tell where those visitors are coming in from or even if they come at all. To be safe, just do what the pros do. Successful Internet marketers derive most of their traffic from the search engines. They accomplish this by continually creating and distributing their content across the Web through methods such as articles or blogs. This is a long term strategy that you should seriously give some thought to. You will benefit greatly from it in the end.
