Pregnancy Headache

Headaches are one of the more unpleasant "side effects" that come with pregnancy. All women will have some, but most will experience them in the first and last trimesters. In the first three months, this is thought to be primarily due to such factors as increased blood volume, the initial stresses, and hormonal changes.

The best idea for dealing with headaches during pregnancy, is to avoid the "known" triggers, or those that are most likely responsible. The food preservative MSG, cheeses, spicy foods, caffeine, chocolate, and other elements of our normal diet, are best eliminated while expecting a baby.

Chronic Diseases and Pregnancy
Speaking about health before pregnancy, we mean way of life, nutrition, physical activity, habits, and also possible chronic diseases, such as heightened blood pressure or diabetes. If you have such diseases, then you just have to visit a doctor beforehand. You know, this may complicate pregnancy, bring harm to an unborn baby.

Hypertension, or high blood pressure, can cause complication both of mother’s and unborn baby’s health. Managing Headache during Pregnancy
Pregnancy headaches are mainly due to the factors such as increased blood volume, hormonal changes and the initial stresses in the first three months. However, poor posture is the main cause of pregnancy headaches in the final three months.

One of the common phases people, especially of women, is headache during pregnancy. Considered as a common complaint during pregnancy, specifically during the first and third trimesters, doctors say it is rarely a signal of a serious problem. During pregnancy, experts say that the possible cause of headache during this time is quite uncertain.

The most common form of headache experienced during pregnancy is migraine that occurs when the blood vessels in the brain constrict and dilate. Experts say that about one in every five women experience migraine headache at least once in their lifetime and about 15 percent of them get migraines for the first time when become pregnant.

Pregnancy Headache Causes
When a woman is pregnant, her body is undergoing a traumatic change that causes a lot of stress, both mental and physical, as well as many ailments such as morning sickness, backaches and headaches. Many symptoms of these ailments are tolerable while others inhibit the entire day, like morning sickness.
It is always better to prevent than cure the illness. Avoid food items that are known to trigger headaches. These could be chocolates, MSG (Monosodium Glutamate), cheese and spicy foods. Lack of sleep, stress, depression, dehydration and hunger are also known as potential culprits that can cause headache.
