A plush toy is a critter, character, or thing that is full of straw, beans, nuggets, cotton, or other types of fibers and then put together with plush material, cotton, or something similar. These cuddly toys come in various shapes, sizes, and inspirations. The most well-known are those that are made to resemble a cartoon character. The most popular of plush toys are the teddy bear. The teddy bear was named after the 26th president of the United States â€“ Theodore Roosevelt. In 1902, Theodore Roosevelt was in attendance of a bear hunt and he had seen a wounded cub. Mr. Roosevelt signaled to his men for the cub to be put to sleep to end his suffering. This kind and humane order was admired by many citizens and soon after, the teddy bear became an icon for the country and stayed in Americaâ€™s culture indefinitely.

Plush toys were actually first conceived in the early 1800â€™s and got more and more popular as technological advancements were introduced. The first type of plush toys were via taxidermy using animals skins for the covering. But the taxidermy style of stuffed toys did not last. By the late 1800â€™s, early 1900â€™s, stuffed toys were to be made synthetically without the use of dead animals.

People all over the world are in love with plush toys. Some enthusiasts make it an interest to collect plush toys by the wall load. Many times though, like the teddy bear, are a completely separate category altogether. Nowadays, there are a multitude of stores, and many more on the web, that sell teddy bears. So, you can purchase a teddy bear in many different places.

Stuffed toys are the perfect gift for people of all ages. Often, a stuffed toy is given to someone who is in a hospital bed. These warm, cuddly, and furry toys are a wonderful gift for a loved one who is is sick or grieving. In addition, stuffed toys are the most popular anniversary gift, and because of this, are marketed especially for that special day. Also, kids are attracted to plush toys and are almost always introduced to them as infants. Because of this history in plush toy introduction, kids are made to love the plush toy and depend on them to get to sleep at night.
