Quality Back Links Are Important But Not Irrelevant Links

Back links are the links which are called the inbound links (IBL’s) or the inward links. The greater the number of back links is the greater the popularity of your website. It simply indicates the popularity and importance of your website. Back links are important for SEO because some search engines, especially Google, will give more credit to websites that have a good number of quality back links, and consider those websites more relevant than others in their results pages for a search query. When the search engines are calculating the importance and popularity of a specific website to a keyword then they consider the number of quality inbound links to that site. So you should not be happy that you have got some inbound links but you have to judge the quality of the links that you have got. So when it comes to exchange of links then always remember that exchange your link with some other quality links not with mass quantity of links and that can harm your purpose instead of do good for your website’s high ranking. But this way of promoting your website is not so advisable and therefore if you are already a good position holder then it should be avoidable. As for example if you have a website about ornaments and then you receive another back link from a website containing wedding ring collection then it would be more preferable than getting a link from a site about drug test. The more relevant the site is that is linking back to your website, the better the quality of the back link.
