SL Corporation®, a leading provider of real-time monitoring, analytics, and visualization software, announces the availability of the RTView® for Oracle® Coherence, a monitoring and management solution that provides users with visibility into grid status and effectiveness. RTView for Oracle Coherence provides important validation when a grid infrastructure is performing correctly. More importantly, should any changes in the environment threaten grid performance or stability, it provides early warning of the potential issue, and facilitates troubleshooting to enable users to isolate and solve the problem quickly.

Many enterprises are adopting grid computing as the delivery platform for new applications, and as a cost-effective means for consolidating siloed infrastructures. They do so with the understanding that application performance and responsiveness depend heavily on the scalability of the grid environment.
Oracle Coherence, a component of Oracle® Fusion Middleware, enables organizations to scale their grid-based applications by helping to eliminate barriers to the growth of their applications. It optimizes how applications access data by moving and managing data in-memory across the grid, closer to the applications that need it most.

While there are enormous benefits to an optimized grid infrastructure, two challenges remain. The first is understanding exactly what’s happening at any given moment, with so many moving parts, to be sure that the grid is performing as expected. With numerous applications and nodes generating thousands of real-time data streams, it becomes extremely difficult to gain a horizontal view across the entire grid environment that is capable of providing early warning of issues that might prevent the grid from performing as expected. The second challenge is quickly troubleshooting and fixing potential threats to grid performance.

RTView for Oracle Coherence helps users deliver increased visibility by aggregating and analyzing key performance metrics across the grid, and presenting the results through meaningful dashboards in real time as data is collected. The solution can also be easily customized to include additional data sources, different views and drill-down screens.

“It is truly impressive how easily Oracle Coherence handles such large volumes of data,” said Tom Lubinski, founder, president, and CEO of SL Corporation. “We’re pleased that our RTView monitoring and visualization solution is able to provide Oracle Coherence users with that added confidence of knowing at all times that their grid is performing properly.”

SL’s data grid visibility solution is built using RTView™, a real-time monitoring and visualization platform for the easy creation and deployment of highly customizable analytics, dashboards, alerts, and reports. It connects directly with data from Coherence and, optionally, almost any other enterprise data source. The combined solution enables users to visually monitor and create dashboards and reports on the metrics that are important to them, and to make that information actionable for immediate response to exceptions.
Users are also able to persist real-time Oracle Coherence information to any relational database using the RTView Historian. This allows users to analyze real-time grid status using historical context for more effective monitoring.

SL Corporation will be hosting a one-hour webinar entitled, “Lift the Lid on Your Oracle Coherence Data Grid: Gaining Real-Time Visibility Into the Performance of Coherence Grids or Clusters,” live on two separate dates: Thursday, November 8th, at 8am PST / 11am EST / 4pm GMT, and Tuesday, December 11th, at 8am PST / 11am EST / 4pm GMT.
