Safety Measures During Hiking

By: Amos Zuk

If you are a beginner in hiking then you surely first need to know what all are the safety measures that are required for hiking. If you could get a trainer to train you on all this nothing like it however if you don’t then I guess you could read on.

When it comes to safety, you are still using control systems safety relays and other safety appliances. Safety measure includes reductions in engine size, grooved tires. Safety, measures should not be too restrictive, but they need to work.

Safety measures includes the covering speed, making vehicles heavier and safer, strengthening barriers around the track to protect both drivers and spectators, and the use of protective clothing for drivers.

1.Hiking requires no special skills but suitable training and preparation are necessary for the hikers to cope with the many-fold changes and prevent misfortunes from happening.
2.Carefully plan and familiarize yourself with the route before setting out. Escape routes and contingency plans should be arranged in advance.
3.An experienced group leader who is familiar with the route is important to lead a journey.
4.Use only paths that are clearly way-marked and maintained.
5.Don’t deviate from maintained path or make detours, doing so is easy to lose direction or run into danger.

Don’t go alone- It is always preferable to hike in a group of four or five

Well knowing about the safety alone does not really keep us safe from the dangers of hiking; one should also know how to prepare and face all these dangers, here are some few tips and points that will help you out.

Prior to the Journey

•Note the weather conditions, Pay special attention to potential climatic hazards during the following periods.
•A sudden drop in temperature may cause hypothermia;
•Gusty wind with low humidity may increase the risk of hill fire.

Every hiking team has a leader and that leader is the one who makes the decisions about what where and how is the plan

1.Nature of the journey, the route and the destination;
2.Date and time of the event, as well as the estimated finishing time;
3.Number of participants and their age.

Hikers tend to fall off over slippery paths easily in such a case the best prevention that one should use are anklet boots, walking over wet rock surfaces, muddy paths and sandy badlands can also be taken in to consideration

In the event of an accident and when someone got injured, check if he has any sprain, fracture abrasion or other injuries if necessary give first aid. If a fracture occurs he should do so with the aid of a walking stick or with support of other companions.
