What is the all time most collected coin in America?
It's in such great demand that the U.S. mint has to stop production, because they cannot keep up with the demand. This silver piece began its run in popularity in 1986 when President Ronald Reagan, enacted congress to manufacture a 1 ounce silver dollar to meet the demand of the public.
Why is one coin so well-liked?
Since its introduction in 1986, over 70 million American Silver Eagles have been bought by wise collectors and investors. Silver Eagles have become the most popular bullion coin in the world because of its beauty, its quality and the assurance of content by the U.S. Government.
Why horde gold and silver coins?
The reason is because coins have four values.
1. Currency value -meaning a dollar coin is worth a dollar.
2. Bullion or intrinsic-value is determined by the gold, or precious metal of coins content.
3. Content purity - coins purity is backed by the coins minting government.
4. Numismatic - is the certified conditional rarity of a collectable coin.
Why numismatic?
Numismatic is Greek. Numis means money, and matic means collecting. Numismatic coins are collectable coins that have long term value, and are passed down from generation to generation, gaining more value and desirability every year.
What makes a numismatic coin?
Coins gain their numismatic value through certification. PCGS, NGC, and ANACS are all highly respectable coin grading companies who are acknowledged world-wide. They certify coins on a MS (mint state) scale from 1 - 70. With MS 1 being barely recognized as a coin, and MS 70 being a perfect exclusive collectable coin. Our coin collecting club only accumulates and distributes MS70 coins. To accomplish this we have to buy coins in huge quantities from the mints, send them to one of the three grading companies to receive a MS rating, and only a tiny percentage come back MS70. fewer than 10 percent .
The Buying Power of the Club
By pulling are our money together we are able to purchase coins in MS70 Condition, without the hassle mention above.

The Silver Eagle is minted in one ounce of .9993 pure silver so it is the largest heaviest and purest silver coin in U.S. history. It is a legal tender United States coin with a nominal face value of one dollar. The obverse of the 2009 Silver Eagle Dollar features Adolph A. Weinman's famous "Walking Liberty" design that first appeared on U.S. Silver Half Dollars from 1916-1947. This is one of the most beautiful coin designs of all time showing Lady Liberty striding forwards in a flowing gown and wrapped by the American flag. The reverse depicts a heraldic eagle together with the U.S. Government's guarantee that the coin contains "1 Oz. Fine Silver" and the face value of "One Dollar."

The American silver eagle has been offered in three different varieties by the US Mint. The first of these is the regular uncirculated bullion version which can be readily purchased from many coin dealers as well as authorized bullion dealers. The second category is of the specially developed collector's proof version of the coin which can only be ordered from the US Mint directly.
The latest in line of the silver eagle coins are the Burnished Silver Eagle coins which bear the W mint mark denoting that they have been minted in the West Point Mintage. These coins are struck on special burnished blanks.
As such the American Silver Eagle is looked upon as the Modern Silver Dollar by collectors. Infatuated collectors actually collect entire series of the coins according to the dates. There are some dates that are very rare. For example one of the key coins that every collector longs for is the 1995 W Proof Silver Eagle. This coin was only available in the 1995 Gold Eagle Proof Sets. The US Mint had only printed a total of 30,125 of these coins.
Another special date is the 2006 W Reverse Proof Silver Eagle which was only available in the 2006 20th anniversary Silver Eagle Set. The total number of these sets released in the market was 250,000.
Amongst the latest sensations in the collection of silver eagle coins is the 2008 W Silver Eagle that has the Reverse of 2007. This is a very unique variety that was released in 2008 but the reverse of the coin was struck with the die type of the previous year. These coins can be distinguished by their bowl shaped U on the reverse side.
