Solar yard lights provide the homeowner with a practical way to illuminate their garden in darkness, without the need to run pesky power wiring. There are a plethora of designs to suit every landscape, type of flowers in the garden and garden size. They use sunlight to energize solar panels which store the power in batteries and in turn produce light at night. Solar yard lighting works in the same way as any other solar powered lighting but obviously differ in their purpose - they are used to brighten up the yard at night.

Solar powered landscape lights come in many styles. They vary greatly in the shape of the solar cells, the material from which the housing is made, along with the base. Some of these lights are now manufactured from plastic; others from steel. The type that you buy will depend on your needs. We'll now examine the different types of solar powered yard lights we have and how each will fit into your landscape design.

Solar yard lighting can come in tall varieties. This style is appropriate for yards with mature trees and possibly for alongside the driveway. By their increased height, they're able to spread out their light over a far wider area. These are highly recommended for yards with trees that are close to one another.

Ground stake solar powered garden lighting provides illumination at a very low level off the ground. It is generally used for garden walkways or entrances. These lights are normally made from steel so they have the ability to take the impact from accidental knocks and falling objects.

There are also those variants of solar powered garden lights that are hung overhead. These ones fit a garden with large branched trees. They aren't very heavy so they can readily be hung on a tree branch without risk of injuring passers by. This type is also suitable for yard entrances so as to provide well lit passages.

There is another style of garden light called the solar powered landscape spot light. These are tall and look like football stadium flood lights. They are usually used for large applications in gardens with lots of trees. Again, you'd need this type if you hold back yard events with large numbers of guests.

Each solar powered yard light that you buy comes with its own full set of installation hardware. The hardware will usually include a solar panel, ground and over head installation brackets.

Solar landscape lighting enhances the beauty of your yard at night; they add a new level of glamor to your yard and make it beam with style.

It is essential that you take lots of factors into consideration when selecting solar garden lights. Look out for the most suited ones that are weather resistant and will withstand very low temperatures. Again you will most likely want to get ones that will require less looking after over the years and have easily replaceable parts. Your solar powered yard lights should also be easy to clean. Depending on the orientation of your garden, you will also need to select between wooden or powder coated steel, as determined by your requirements. The yard's terrain might also dictate which type of material or casing to ultimately go for. If you are going for overhead solar garden lighting and live in a stormy region of the country, you must consider those that are strong and can withstand the impact of hail etc.

Solar landscape lights add style to ones yard. They can also serve as a really great way to liven up your garden.
