Store Your Best Baby Memories on a Memory Board

You know how everyone seems to say that time flies when you're having fun. This is particularly true when it comes to raising our children. All of us live such busy and complicated daily lives, striving to balance our personal and business obligations as we wonder what happens to the time. It seems that as soon as we've climbed out of bed in the morning and lifted our children out of their nursery bedding, somehow before we know it, another day has gone by it's once again time for another nightcap. A newborn usually adds quite a bit of extra stress throughout the day, and it's often easy to overlook many of the special moments which appear as our cherished bundle of joy explores their new world.

Raising a child is one of the most satisfying periods of our life. You put everything into it and before you know it, your newborn baby is off to kindergarten, then away to school and even going out on his or her first date! Try not to let this whirlwind pass you by with little but the memories in your own head. Think about designing and maintaining a memory board to capture all those special moments and store those little bits and pieces that may not mean much to someone else, but have a special meaning to you.

A memory board should be placed in a prominent place within the house - ideally in the nursery to start off with. Make sure that your board is of a significant size and is made of sturdy material. Ideally it should be specifically designed for the purpose. Make sure that you've got lots of pins readily available so that you don't ever need to search for them when you'd like to add something new, as this would likely distract you from what you meant to do to begin with - which is attaching your memories, don't forget, to the board.

If you are, like me, a fan of Harry Potter, then you will have seen in the most recent movie how the school principal keeps his important memories in a number of vials. That may be fine if you are a wizard, but we will need to rely on our memory board to serve us well.

When it comes to placing items on the memory board, photographs will take up most of the space. These days you can get sophisticated cameras that produce great results quite inexpensively and you can also buy those great photo printers to make sure that you print out those magic moments right away. Don't let the perfect memories languish on some virtual disk, as you will just forget.

In addition to photographs you might want to place cards from well-wishers, for example. Ensure that you're in a creative state of mind when you pin items to the board, and don't do it in some regimented manner, but with some personal flair so it looks really nice. Don't be tempted to fill up the board completely right away, although you can always prioritize your greatest memories as baby grows older and you need to make room for new pieces.

As you and your baby grow through life, you will find that your memory board starts to contain snippets from school life, sporting achievements and so on, but try and maintain a balance that reflects the very reason for you getting this item in the first place - to keep track of your child's development. As a nursery decoration the memory board should be on your list of baby accessories to purchase.
