Tap into Your Artistic Side to Get the Girl

Why is it that artists get the girl? Remember the story of Cyrano de Bergerac written by the French author Edmond Rostand? The story was revived about twenty years ago in a movie called “Roxanne” with Steve Martin and Daryl Hannah. It is a story of pursuing the love of a woman. Two men have fallen in love with the same woman and want to win her over. One is handsome but dim-witted, the other is ugly (has an enormous nose, in the movie “Roxanne”) but writes and speaks beautifully. In the end, Steve Martin’s big-nosed character prevails and supports the notion that the artist, in the end, gets the girl.

This theme has been repeated in all kinds of stories, it plays a dominant role in the recent movie “Moulin Rouge” as well. The fact is, there is a lot of truth to the concept that an artistic man has a better shot at winning a girl’s heart. There is good reason for this. Women are emotional creatures, and the best way to trigger emotion is through the arts.

Men traditionally struggle with the challenge of tapping into their emotional side. Sadly, if you want to really win over a girl, you’re going to have to make some effort here. You can’t just pick up a remote control and control her every whim like a video game (although some guys have resorted to this, but we won’t get into life-size dolls or the Sims). You have to figure out what makes her tick, and pick an effective way to trigger the desired emotions in her.

If she is like most girls, she is sensitive to atmosphere. This can be understood in a broad sense. Atmosphere includes location as well as the emotional atmosphere. It isn’t just about taking her to a nice restaurant, you have to be able to create an emotional atmosphere to go along with the physical environment.

Try to think like an artist when you sit down to dinner with her. You have to see beyond your physical surroundings and try to discern feelings. The best way to get on the right track is to find out what she likes and talk about that. If you get a little bit into the subject, you’ll start to see what types of things she has attached meaning and emotion to. If you can show that you value these things, she will start to open up emotionally. If you are truly bold, you can sit down later and come up with a poem that addresses a similar theme to things that she values, most girls will absolutely melt if you do this. This kind of artistic expression is effective on two fronts, it shows that you have emotional intelligence and that you’ve taken the time to appreciate her as a person.

Another great way to create atmosphere is through using the senses. Women are particularly sensitive to smell. Try a scented candle, llike the Original Mandle. It is a man- scented candle with an ultra-premium cologne aroma for optimal effect. You can choose from candles that smell like Acqua Di Gio, Very Sexy For Him, or Eternity by Calvin Klein, to name a few. Now that you know more about using your artistic side to get the girl, you’ll appreciate the atmosphere that you can create by combining the right scent at the right time.
