The Magic Of Getting Started

A writer once alleged, "The shores of fortune are covered with the stranded wrecks of men of brilliant ability but who have lacked courage, faith and decision and have therefore perished in sight of more resolute but less capable adventurers, who succeeded in making port."

The majority of the time we start the opening of the year with dreams, goals and aspirations. One common occurrence is that most people, by the end of the first or second month, have entirely detoured and forgotten about all they have planned to accomplish.

When we have something we want accomplish, it is our nature to look at the obstacles we have to triumph overconquer instead of looking at what needs to be accomplished. When we catalog everything we need for a certain job/vision, we get overwhelmed and will want to delay till we have everything at our disposal. If this is your method to pursuing your visions, you may possibly NEVER start off at all and procrastination will always be something you will indulge in. You will be waiting for a breakthrough that may NEVER come and you will keep postponing what you are supposed to do.

When God told Moses he will liberate the Israelites, the question He asked Moses was, What is in your hand? Moses wouldnt have thought the stick he had been holding for years would be sufficient to get on track the procedure of liberating the Israelites. The sling in Davids hand was enough to destroy Goliath off the face of the world. He didnt need all the armour or arms in Israel to kill Goliath, he went with what he had and victory was his.

If the above-named had looked at the task facing them and compared it with what they have, they wouldnt have turned out to be great and OBSCURITY would have been their lot in this life.

When God has planted a goal in your mind, the primary thing for you to do, is to Initiate! I have heard individuals say it is a must to count the costs of your actions. I don’t disagree with that but counting the cost in order for you to stay action will do you no benefit at all. If you will need approximately a million dollars to start a venture, instead of waiting for a providential chance, won’t it be wiser for you to begin small than work your way up?

One critical thing I have learnt about taking action is that you never know where you will get to until you start to act. The step forward you may be expecting may even be tied to your getting on track. I have seen a man who started his firm with a mere $650 and has grown it to over $250 million. I trust the man wouldnt have completed anything if he was to look at all the things he would need for the business to get to the height he wants it to be. So if there is anything you want to carry out this year, dont let anything deter you from starting. You don’t need all the funds in the world to get started, just determine that you will do something and DO IT In any case.

If a snail and a rabbit initiate a race, the rabbit will get to the finishing line before the snail, but the snail will also get to the finish line EVENTUALLY. The reality is that no matter how long it took the two of them, they both crossed the finish line. Others may have all they considered necessary, but that shouldnt dissuade you from starting out on your own. We all have various races to contend and our paces won’t definitely be the same.
