The Upsy Daisy Bed - A Must Have Toy This Christmas

By: Anna L Shannen Click author's name for more of his/her articles

Thinking of giving your little girl an Upsy Daisy Bed for Christmas? This little doll and her friends have certainly become a popular favourite amongst 0-5 years olds. Daisy is one of the main characters in the In The Night Garden show along with her friends, Iggle Piggle, Makka Pakka and the Tombliboos.

The show centers around life In The Night Garden, a special magical place where everyone are friends. The show is very colourful and stimulating which make it easy for little children to become interested in. The story for the show is narrated as the characters themselves don't actually speak. The show is a huge success and rightly so. It was created by Anne Wood and Andrew Davenport, the same people who gave us the Teletubbies and we all know how successful they became!

There is a large selection of merchandise and toys available to buy of the characters from the show. Upsy Daisy and Iggle Piggle are two of the main characters in the show. The choice of toys available for these two characters is quite extensive.

The Upsy Daisy Bed was one of the most popular toys last Christmas and I am sure it will be in even more demand this year. When Upsy Daisy is trying to go to sleep her bed generally misbehaves and she ends up chasing it around. As in the show, the toy bed still gives Daisy plenty of trouble. There is a button at the end of the bed, when you press it the bed rolls away and Daisy will have to catch it if she wants to go to sleep. Press the button again and the bed will play the theme tune from in The Night Garden and gently rock Upsy Daisy to sleep.

The Upsy Daisy Bed comes with a soft Upsy Daisy that closes her eyes when she lies down and a blue soft blanket the same as the one in the show. I have to say my little girl really loves her Daisy doll and she takes her everywhere and I mean everywhere, although personally I do find her eyes to be a little strange. But again this does not bother my daughter in the slightest and I am sure it does not bother other children.

The bed is quite heavy but again this does not seem to be any problem, for instance my daughter just pushes it along the floor on its wheels and if it needs carrying anywhere that is what Mummy's are for - right?

Your son or daughter, yes Upsy Daisy is popular with a lot of boys, will adore this toy. It is well made, I can definitely confirm this as my daughters has been bounced down stairs, stood on and generally manhandled by various children and is still in one piece. I do think the toy is a very good purchase. It looks just the same as the one of the show so your little one will instantly recognise it.

There is lost of fun to be had with the Upsy Daisy Bed and I am sure your little one will get lots of pleasure from this toy. However, you may be driven mad by the theme music from In the Night Garden and you might even consider removing the batteries after a few days. Don't say I didn't warn you!!
