Have you thought about placing your bouquets in the vases ,this cuts the cost down for arrangements on the Bridal table.
Have a friend or relative bring a pair of cutters to give the stems a quick neat trim so the flowers will receive fresh water to their heads.
Plus you or other family members
will have your flowers for the next
coming week to enjoy. Very economical
Teardrop bouquets :To have any wired handled bouquets revitalized ask to have them placed in the cool room at the reception as long as possible. Pick the bouquet up the next day if this is feasible and you will have a fresh and revitalize bouquet. Ready for the BBQ or after wedding party.
Remember the more flowers you want in a bouquet the more cost you will incur.
Take heed with fresh flower hair pieces ,
place these in to the hair at the last moment to
save any accidents
To place flowers on veils ,check if the veil has a comb attached if not the florist can attach the
flowers to a comb which can be stitched to the veil.
Hair combs for bridesmaids are a perfect choice as they generally sit comfortably in the hair. Place in hair at last minute to avoid unwanted accidents.
Single flowers for the hair are placed on wire ,this is taped and ready to be placed and pinned in to hair.
Hairdressers will put them in early which is great,
but trust me,the flowers can get knocked about very easily.
We have had girls return needing more flowers due to the flower being crushed.
As a gift our florist has always made a complimentary throw away bouquet
consisting of the flowers that the bride has in her bouquet. This is just a small
bouquet,so the Bride can throw this one and enjoy her own bouquet as long as she can.

Don't throw your bouquet away ,ask the florist or
if you are making your own bouquet don't forget to make "One to throw"
Have the "One to throw" go to the reception before you arrive and request the bouquet to be placed in a vase,to keep it fresh till its time for the frivolities of throwing the bouquet!
Other florists may include the "Throw away" in the price of the bouquets.
This is a totally independent choice of the florist.
Keep the buttonholes in the bottom of refrigerator till the last minute, this will keep them fresh.
After the ceremony and hugs are being handed out, keep it in mind to have the boys
hug to the right, this may sound odd,but the buttonholes will be crushed very quickly.
Tulips are the first to break a part . In the day the tulips will open up when they are in the light.
The buttonholes are generally pinned with the flower upright.Corsages follow the same steps as the buttonholes.
Make sure the flower girls throw just a small amount of petals down the aisle, If they have been heavy handed have Mom on hand with a bag of extra petals to place in the basket for more petal throwing as the day goes along.
If the flower girls carry a teddy, add a little bracelet on her wrist so this will keep her
amused throughout the ceremony.
Over the years many Mother's and Bride's to be come in together to discuss the wedding flowers, most times its wonderful,.It's only on the odd occasion it can turn into a circus.
This can be a great or a lethal combination, either both will agree or love to disagree in the choice of flowers.
Have a good discussion with your Mum/Friend about the flowers to make her feel apart of your day before heading to the florist. This may all it needs to have a happy Mum or friend again.
If the choices are like chalk and cheese and no compromise can be made, why not have a
beautiful "thank you" bouquet ,of the flowers that your Mother loves with a few of your bridal flowers add in to present to her during the speeches. This gesture wins hands down every time.
The Wedding Cake, requesting flowers for the cake, always helps when you can bring in a template of the cake top to the florist.
Have the Cake decorator draw up a template with the measurements of your cake .
Indicate type of flowers (normally they match with bridal bouquet)and where you want the flowers to be displayed.
The flowers are arranged in a mini decal for the cake tops. This is a small round oasis that has a sticker on the bottom of the base, is pulled off and sits on the cake. Some florist may use different methods that would be much of a muchness.
For flowers cascading down the cake and around the side of angles ,these are wired and put in to place.
If the flowers are to cascade down to the next tier ,bring a picture to the florist so they will have a clear picture in mind of the design you desire.Keep in mind to have a cake top filled with roses can cost the same as a bouquet.
The whole process of making wedding bouquets
is a lot of work and stress. Many hours are put into making bouquets, thus the cost of labor goes into the
making the bouquets.
Everything has a price including the greenery that goes into the bouquet.
Many florists have got degrees in their art,and have spent many years studying and
learning the art of floral arranging, this is their profession and it is their lively hood.
