Have you ever suffered from toothache anguish? If you haven't, you're very lucky because just about everyone will suffer with this particular torment at some time in their life - it seems to be a price we pay for being human. Usually the toothache pain is so consuming that it makes getting through our day difficult because all we can think about is the throbbing pain. At these times, home remedies for a toothache may be very welcome, especially if there is no dentist available. A natural remedy for a toothache is particularly welcome for people with money problems or who have no dental insurance.

Eradicating The Pain Of A Toothache

* Putting a pinch of pepper on an aching tooth is a strong natural remedy if the source of the pain is a cavity. Some former toothache victims also advocate mixing in about 1/4 of a teaspoon of salt to make a salt and pepper combination. In addition to affecting the wretched toothache, a salt and pepper mixture is good for infected gums and gums that are overly soft. It works well to freshen up crocodile breath, too.

* Humans have used garlic as a home remedy for a toothache for centuries. By placing a raw garlic clove on the painful tooth, relief may be quickly felt. In fact, some claim that the relief is permanent and has the added wonderful benefit of eliminating infection. This isn't a crazy idea. Garlic has been proven to combat bacteria, parasites and viruses. In fact, many holistic healers recommend that all of us swallow a clove of raw garlic every day.

* Many are astonished to learn that the lowly onion can be a huge blessing for a toothache. An onion is helpful because of its effect on bacteria. Folks hurting from a toothache can put a small piece of onion on the tooth that is causing anguish. Pain relief just might come in a manner of minutes.

Not only can onions be a potent home toothache remedy, this amazing vegetable can PREVENT toothaches in the future since it wipes out nasty bacteria that cause cavities.

Toothache Prevention

* Naturally, it's simpler to forestall a toothache than to cure one. So dependable dental checkups are always wise. It is better to go at least once per year, or even twice a year if necessary, to prevent these excruciating episodes.

* Another potent preventative measure is to scale down or eliminate sugary drinks and foods (yeah, yeah, I know - easier said than done.) But it's undoubtedly true that sugar increases the likelihood of a painful cavity. If you can't give up your sugar fix at least brush after eating your sweet treats.

* Drinks and food with a lot of vitamin C are extremely wholesome for teeth and gums. Low-sugar fruits like limes, lemons and grapefruit are perfect for forestalling loose teeth, cavities, gum disease and painful toothaches. If parents encourage the consumption of these, the probabilities of childhood difficulties with teeth and gums will be greatly reduced.

Obviously, natural remedies for toothache pain exist. However, we all have habits that promote tooth problems, gum disease, receding gums - and pain. It's important to make changes that will avoid, or at least reduce the probability, of painful toothaches and all the teeth problems we humans face.
