So you're the outdoors, dig in the dirt kind of person. You couldn't imagine yourself sitting inside staring at a computer all day. Thankfully, you don't have to, but you can still get some use out of the World Wide Web. The Internet has vast amounts of resources for anyone, whether they like to use the computer or not. You may not know how much the Internet can help you! The following suggestions are great ways to get the most out of your Internet access and find ways to aide your green thumb.

Shop for supplies. You may have grown up with no option but to drive to the nearest store to get your gardening supplies, but now you can shop from the convenience of you own home. You can search for gardening tools, browse online seed catalogs, or check out the latest gardening equipment online. You can have most items shipped right to your home, and, if you live out in the country like most gardeners, you won't have a long drive to town to pick up your items.

Find Competitive Prices. One thing you won't find in the local greenhouse or hardware store is variety and competition. Shopping online lets you compare prices of multiple dealers and get the most for your money.

Get Gardening Advice. There are websites all over the Internet with various people asking questions and giving answers to others on Gardening tips and practices. Whether it's a chat room forum on gardening topics, or maybe an advice column or newsletter from a gardening supply company, you can find several websites dedicated to gardening that will give you loads of tips and information. You might even meet gardeners from other parts of the country and get interesting stories and new ideas for your garden.

Learn about plants and plant care. Many encyclopedias and educational resources are available on the Internet. You can look up new plants or plants you don't know very much about to learn how they grow, germinate, and produce, what type of environments they prefer, and whether they would survive in your climate. You can research different types of mulching, fertilizing, and composting techniques that could double your harvest! You would be amazed what helpful and free information is right at your fingertips!

Buy books and videos about gardening. There countless shopping websites where you can browse hundreds of books by author or subject. Keep up with your favorite authors and series! You can buy new and used books at a number of shopping websites on a variety of gardening subjects right from your home.

Think (even more) green! Learn about ways to protect your environment and produce healthy plants the natural way. You may be surprised what natural tricks and techniques are available for strong and healthy plants, and are good for you and the environment!

The Internet is a great resource for beginner gardeners who want to understand the basics of gardening and plant life. It's also a unique opportunity for seasoned gardeners to learn more about plant care, produce, and new species they haven't tried before. Run a search query on general gardening topics if you're not sure where to begin, check out an online encyclopedia, or browse a online bookstore to get started!
