Family holiday don’t get much better than in Orlando. It is the gateway to Disney World, Universal Studios and Sea World so having fun is guaranteed. You can visit pretty much all year round thanks to its enviable climate and with flight prices into Orlando International Airport decreasing considerably there has never been a better time to visit.

America knows how to build a theme park and Orlando is the best place to see this. Start at the most famous theme park in the world, Walt Disney World’s, the Magic Kingdom. Opened in 1971 this park is now one of four Disney parks that are spread over more than 28,000 acres. It is here that you will find Cinderella’s castle, cruise around the park on the Liberty Square Riverboat, get big trills from Space Mountain and get spooked by the Pirates of the Caribbean.

For the thrill seeker in us, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has even more to offer. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror will drop you a massive 13 stories not once, but twice, the Star Tours simulator will catapult you into light speed and Jim Henson’s Muppet 3D vision is hilarious.

You can see the world in one day at Disney’s Epcot. It has themed areas from many parts of the globe offering food, attractions and performances. It’s great for younger children with entertainment provided by the Seas with Nemo and Friends adventure and Honey I Shrunk the Audience interactive experience.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is slightly different. Here you can see real life animals, go on safaris and ride rapids as well as enjoying a good selection of rides and shows.

‘Blockbusters come to life’ at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. This park has movie-themed rides, from the Jaws ride in Amity to the Terminator 2 3D movie, where you can relive you favourite movie moments and have a complete blast doing so.

The newer Islands of Adventure section has scarier rides arranged over five different islands, and is the most technically advanced theme park in the world. Popular attractions are the Jurassic Park River Adventure, The Dr Seuss rollercoaster, the Spiderman 3D movie and the Incredible Hulk rollercoaster.

Sea World and Discovery Cove give you the opportunity to swim with dolphins, interact with killer whales and admire the ferocious power of sharks. It also has regular live shows, roller coasters, educational interactive exhibitions and sun-kissed beaches. A day here often isn’t enough.
