1. Long term success - What is the future of the company? Remember as you are trying to build a large team, that you are still categorized as an independent contractor. This means that the company can terminate your agreement with them at any time they want and your income can go back to zero. If something happens to the company you lose your income and will need to start all over again with a new company. You will want your company to be very solid and hold a promising future.

2. Is there a real product to sell? An actual product is required in any network marketing business. If it is just seen as a money making strategy it will not succeed and people will not buy into it. You need an actual product that creates some kind of value.

3. How do you get paid? You need to look at the compensation structure and make sure that you are comfortable with how they pay out their commissions; both on direct sales and team sales. You need to make sure you are comfortable on how you are compensated and also that you are earning as much as possible. they are a business as well and need to maximize their own profit. Even though their distributors are their marketing and sales, they cannot and will not pay every penny out to the sales force.

These factors alone do not automatically mean success for you network marketing business. In order to win big you will still need to do work in order to make sales and build a large enough team so that you can create a residual income. It is now your responsibility to build your network marketing team. These factors do not build the team for you. To attract people to you so that you can create a large team will depend on your effectiveness as a leader. Although they only share and celebrate the success stories every single network marketing company has many more failure stories that never get mentioned. This goes to show you that it is always about you and the work, effort, and leadership you can place into your business.

A good marketing system is vitally important for whatever network marketing company you choose. This system will need to allow you attract new people that you can present your business to on a daily basis. Marketing your network marketing business can take many forms. The more traditional methods include contacting your warm market which consists primarily of your friends and family or buying generic lead lists.

Unless you have a very large circle of influence you will want to utilize a newer style of marketing your opportunity by utilizing the internet. The internet will allow you to drive to your own website very targeted leads and then you will own your own list of prospects to follow up with who already know who you are. A system like this will allow you to achieve ultimate success in any network marketing business because the internet is working all the time and your business can continue to grow now matter what you are doing.
